Why is it so clear that a five-year old in boys clothing is a girl?

Why the hoping around with the POV?  (I think Kasumi or Ranma or

alternation between the two would work OK).  (Think of the bathtub scene

from Kasumi's POV)



Does Ranma play up the little girl bit to keep P-chan from Akane?



Plots that get amplified:



    Ranma-chan fighting anything.

    Kasumi's maternals.

    Anything that traps Ranma in the cursed form.



Plots that get dampened.



    Folks attracted to Ranma-chan. (Unless Blue Thunder and Happi are

        sicker than we think.)

    Ranma-chan being better built than Akane.  ("These old handme downs

        of yours Akane, they don't fit me too well.")

    Ranma being able to sub in for Akane. (Gymnastics)



The BIG problem with this idea, is that Takahashi depreciates women to

such an extent that most of the time in the manga, Ranma-chan might as

well have been five.
