What have we here? A Tenchi crossover?

Nope!

Hmmm... maybe they ate the fish from "Airplane"? :-)

Nor a crossover with "Airline A-ko". (I'll put in sounds of a mob of

hungry felines here...)

This ain't the Akane we know, folks. Why is she taking this from

"Ranma"?

Her clear defeat (and girlish behavior) badly shook her self confidence.

She'll get her red up later.

I also don't understand why "Ranma" was so quick to choose Akane and

make moves on her.

Why is Ukyou doing any of this?



She's attempting to uphold her lost Ran-chan's responsibilities.  (I've

got to be real careful in phrasing that!)



In this case, marry one of the Tendo daughters and inheirt the Dojo.



Akane is the logical choice (Notice how Ukyou "had" to confirm her

status as a martial artist), and Ukyou's been watching her for a few

days.



Neither one of the other two girls is as logically suitable.  Also,

Ukyou has more empathy for the tomboy than her more "feminine" sisters.

(All she has in common with Kasumi is cooking)



Notice that the pull for the engagement is from Ukyou rather than being

pushed by Genma.  She is getting him to live up to his

responsibilities.  (There is ONE promise that he's made that will be a

little difficult...)



Things to be on the lookout for:



    Genma being as weepy as Soun.



    Akane's pet.  (Hint: he isn't a pig...)



    The people who know the real Ranma and Ukyou's secret.



    Ukyou suddenly regretting her curse.
