I thought that since the octopus water was only splashed on his back, his 
back lost the old curse and gaines tentacles, but the rest of his body kept 
the old curse.

I haven't seen the manga for this, but that could be scary. Say P-chan's
head was splashed with SOD man.  Or Ranma had been partially hit
when Mousse was throwing all that SOD duck water at him. *shudder*
