I thought it was cool too.  The whole reader "interaction" format makes it 
a bit weirder if you're female.

Lemme guess, the other party was Ye Olde Otaku who _thinks_ he knows what's
right. I imagine he didn't count on being in a reality that didn't match
Takashi-sensei's.

Since the otaku initially shows up to make everything better, it would be 
ironic and/or funny if you have Ranma get really heartbroken and depressed 
when the otaku ends up rejecting him.
