Think you are missing the point, Simon. There's no real reason to use animated
GIF's period. Nor any of that Java or Active X nonsense either on a WWW page.
At the very least, if you are going to insist on using it, do what the Ranma
2096 WWW page and Falcon's Urd shrine does and offer the option of not having
to wade through that graphical crud without resorting to totally turning off
the graphics.
