Subject: [Ranma] An observation

For most fics where Ranma and Akane admit their love for each
other _to each other_ it always seems that Ranma's the one who first says
it and _then_ Akane reciprocates. (One notable exception is Lawson-san's
_Thy Inward Love_, and a less notable one is my recently posted "Life and
Manhood".) That would include my even more recently posted "I Am a
Part..." shortfic. Why is that, though? Why doesn't Akane take the
initiative more often? She's a reasonably strong-minded girl, she'd be
able to go ahead and say it. (Of course, that's also partly why the two of
them are so reluctant to say it to begin with....)
