None of these stories were posted to the ffml in the past year, with the
exception of Black Lemonade and Hiroshi and Daisuke are Dead. I wanted to
take time to read some vintage age and classic age Ranma fanfics that I
haven't got around to.

PASSION SPICE-BIG TROUBLE!
by Christian Gadeken
*Grammar: 7
*Story: 7 This story, I believe was the starting block of all those passion
spice fanfictions.
*Characters: 8 Talk about IC, only problem is Shampoo spoke normal on some
parts it seemed.
*Humor: 6
*Overall: 8 I liked this story a lot. A very refreshing fresh air from
today's fanfics. I actually thought the ending was the best! Very Takahashi
like.

RANMA 1/2: ACTOR IN THE MIRROR
by Christian Gadeken
*Grammar: 8
*Story: 9
*Characters: 9.5 Very in character and the new Akane is portrayed nicely.
*Humor: 5
*Drama: 5
*Overall: 9 One of the best Ranma fanfics I have ever read. Too bad Gadeken
wrote only four fics. I can't think of anything bad about this to say,
except for some very little, minor pet peeves that are not worth
mentioning.

RANMA 1/2 VERSION 3.1
by Christian Gadeken
*Grammar: 7
*Story: 7 Interesting, even though half of the plot was from the anime with
the same story.
*Characters: 7 OOC and I don't even think Gadeken meant to be OOC either.
*Overall: 7 The least best of what Gadeken did from his four fics he ever
wrote. Well, five if you believe he wrote Okonmiyaki Orgy also. The problem
is that that the characters seemed to be OOC when they shouldn't be OOC.

BLACK LEMONADE
by Nicholas Leifker
*Grammar: 8
*Story: 8
*Characters: 8
*Humor: 6
*Overall: 8 I liked it. I think it achieved its purpose. This was like the
movie "Man Bites Dog" if you read it with the attitute that this is a
Darkfic, it's going to be very depressing. But if you read it like if this
were a spoof, then it's funny.

THE DARK HALF
by Karl Rim
*Grammar: 7 The the layout was really hard for me to read
*Story: 9
*Characters: 9
*Humor: 5
*Drama: 5
*Overall: 9 All yeah! This is the story that should be read. It is long,
too long I think. Still, it is one of the classics of Ranma fanfiction.
Karl seemed like he really put a lot of effort into this. The story and the
characters were top notch. The prose/script format, I felt didn't work
though.

STEPPING STONES
by Benares
*Grammar: 7
*Story: 9
*Characters: 9
*Humor: 1 That drinking scene was funny because I know people that'll act
like that when they are drunk
*Drama: 8
*Overall: 9 Was this the first depressed Ukyo story? I think so. Was this
the first overly dramatic story? I think . . . Once again, like "The Dark
Half," "Putting Your Heart in the Right Place," and dare I mention the
"Crys Saga," this was the first stepping stone of some of the Ranma fics
that are written today.

RANMA MEETS . . .
by Ed Hrzic
*Grammar: 7
*Story: 7 Wow, very silly
*Characters: 7 not much devlopment, at least they were IC
*Humor: 4
*Overall: 7 Well, Yogi kicked Ranma and Ryouga's arse. Heh heh. The prose
is nothing to rave about. But it was one of those fics that showed that he
was in a very weird mood.

RANMA 1/2: THE DRAGON COMB MYSTERY PART 1-5
by Ed Hrzic
*Grammar: 6 It was really painful to the eyes to read. Ed could have made
it more eye pleaseing
*Story: 8 the develpment of the relationship could have been more develped
*Characters: 8
*Humor: 7
*Overall: 9 This is my second favorite author-in-stories. The others I read
are so-so. Lots of humor and the typical Ed Hrzic zanyness.

HIROSHI AND DAISUKE ARE DEAD
by Stefan Gagne
*Grammar: 8
*Story: 8
*Characters: 7
*Humor: 6
*Overall: 7 This was a fun and interesting read. Yeah, you heard me, it was
fun! Ha ha ha ha I loved how he described the mutilations.
