As I remember reading (ages ago), the Jabba the Hut they filmed but did not
use for Star Wars was a human(oid), not the Jabba of Jedi. How do they
explain that?

The original footage was shot with a human actor in place of Jabba.
The intention was that the footage would go through some effects work and
the actor would be replaced by an f/x Jabba. At the time it wasn't
feasible on their budget so the scene was scrapped. The new edition will
have the scene with a CG Jabba overlayed the human actor. It's a younger
Jabba then what we know in Jedi and able to move under his own power.

On a side note I've probably seen Star Wars about 80 times, no I'm
not kidding. Only once in the theatre, my parents took me when I was a
little child. I have the ILM book, and from what I've read they've gone
through a heck of alot of work to rerelease it.

	Opening night... I'll be there.

Sorry if anyone thinks this is a bit offtrack but George Lucas had
strong influences by Japanese film (Akira Kurosawa). I'm sure there are
dozens of term papers on this subject, but I'll leave that to the
intelectuals among us. Suffice it to say I consider Star Wars almost like
live action anime.
