The three fighter teams with a combo system like Street Fighter Alpha 2
would be cool.  Herb, Toma and Suffron could be the bosses with an
original final boss at the end.

This idea is just waaaayyy to cool to be limited just to Takahashi
characters...
If were doing three character combo style, why not have an all goddess team,
consisting of Urd, Skuld and Belldandy...

Other possibilities for three man teams:

A-ko, B-ko and C-ko (not that C-ko would really have any special attacks
other than being annoying....)

   Whaddya mean, C-ko has no special attacks?  Consider this:

   C-ko:  WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
   (Her opponent's eardrums burst.)

   C-ko:  LUNCH!
   (I'll leave this one to yer imaginations....)

Tenchi Masaki, Ryouko, and Aeka (or Sasami, possibly)

Any three of the Knight Sabers... (But you must include Priss!)

Leona (with or without firearms), and the Puna Sisters...

As for the Lum suggestion, you could do a Lum, Benten and Oyuki team...

The Dirty Pai...uhhh Lovely Angels and their pet *whatever*

Now who to team with Nuku Nuku......? ^_^

   How about Yohko, Azusa, and Ayako?

   Lina Inverse, Gourry, and Zelgadis?
