Derek Bacon.

Can't say that I ever knew him.

Actually, that's a lie. Anyone who's ever read the UF saga knows him in a
way. As Benjamin admitted, he was one of the people who proofread and
edited the saga. He was not as visible as the authors, but he was just as
important.

Not only as an editor and proofreader, but as a friend to these people. A
good friend to these people. He shaped their life, and in turn shaped the
UF saga, which shaped us. After all, Undocumented Features was the
quintisential fanfiction, and you know how much a part of our life _they_
are <wg>.

In his passing, he will be missed by _all_ of us in our own way; even YOU,
who never even heard of Derek, UF, GweepCo, WPI or WDF.

Goodbye, Derek. You made a difference in my life, and that makes you truly
immortal.
