A Self-Infliction fic is like the GSIF in that the author is a character,

but the author also seems to be a target for all sorts of trouble.  These

generally occur in violent animes like BGC or Ranma, and end up having

the > author being trashed more then anyone else.

At least, that's how I know them as.
