According to Tenchi 101, Achika is Youshou's daughter, and Tenchi's
father looks and sounds like him because he is also descended from
Youshou along  a different line.  (Youshou left quite a few descendents).
This means  that Achika is distantly related to her husband, but

consider

that Aeka was  going to marry Youshou and he's her _brother_....

       Alien genetics...  They most likely don't have the recessive genes
than made Deliverence such a fun movie...

Nah, it's a monarchy thing. In ancient Egypt, princes would marry their own
sisters because queenship was heireditary. Queens couldn't rule, but they
eldest daugher was always queen.

If I wasn't part of it myself, I would never believe it. I mean, talking
cats, peculiar monsters, reincarnated warriors with awesome powers wearing
abbreviated sailor suits? Sounds like something from a Shojo Manga.
