In a message dated 96-12-15 20:48:45 EST, you write:

Prose
----

(Ranma is running from Akane)

        "Ranma!!! You baka!!!!! C'mere, you!!"

"So you can hit me again!? No way, Akane!!"

Actually, I would have it as:

"Ranma!!! You baka!!! C'mere, you!!" screamed Akane as she chased after Ranma
with her mallet in hand.

"So you can hit me again!? No way, Akane!!" yelled back a fleeing Ranma.

But seriously, I'm curious if people really do feel that script form is the
best medium for fast action and rapid dialogue. I think I fall into the
catergory of fast action/dialogue, but I've only used prose form. I guess I
dabble with thoughts and a few more emotional stuff here and there, but
action was predominant in Ranma/SM. I was and still am very happy with the
finished product, but being a new fanfic writer, I'm always looking for
expansion. Honestly, the biggest problem I have with prose is finding new
ways of saying "says, yells, screams, seethes, hisses, etc." before I start
using the same words too much. So... do people feel script form tells a more
succinct and smooth story for action/dialogue oriented fanfics?
