Chapter 6: The Pig We've All Been Waiting For
Ryoga was running as fast as he could. He had heard Akane scream Ranma's
name less than a kilometer away. Or maybe a mile? Wait, a kilometer was how
much of a mile? Ryoga shook his head. He couldn't tell left from right,
least of all judge distance. The only thing keeping him from getting lost
was his concern for Akane and the fact that all he had to do was run straight
down the tunnel.
"Damn that Ranma!" Ryoga cursed. Ranma couldn't protect her like he could.
Ranma didn't love her, least of all with the passion Ryoga did. How could
he protect her without all his heart in it? "Don't worry Akane, I'm coming!"
"Ranma!" Akane had shouted as she tried to help him, but Malachite had
knocked her away with a negaforce blast.
"Don't... you dare hurt her!" Ranma grits out through his teeth. Despite
the pain, Ranma locked his legs around Malachite's outstretched arm, and
wrapped his arms around it as well. He then shifted his weight, flipping
Malachite into the air and slamming him against the ground.
With Malachite's grip broken, Ranma then slams his knee into Malachite's
neck. To his surprise, Malachite managed to grab Ranma's leg, and flings him
to the wall.
Ranma flips in the air and hits the wall with his feet, and then rebounds
straight back at Malachite. "Bring back Ukyou!" mandates Ranma as he slugs
him with his fist.
Malachite flew to the ground. He was losing it. He decides to rile up
Ranma. "And if I were to tell you that I had slayed her the moment you
arrived?" he sneers.
"Liar!" screams Ranma as he launches himself at Malachite. "Tencho
Amagureken!" chants Ranma as he begins to punch Malachite.
Malachite had put up an energy shield around him. He laughed defiantly at
Ranma as he tried to pierce it. "Stop wasting your energy, my shield is
impregnable!"
Ranma's knuckles were beginning to bleed, but he didn't let up.
To Malachite's surprise, the barrage of blows were cracking his shield.
Before he could do anything, the shield shattered and Ranma had placed a
dozen blows on his already mangled face. The punches had him flipping along
the floor.
"Bring Ukyou here or I'll kill you!" commanded Ranma.
"If... if you touch me...," Malachite spitted out through his own blood,
"...then she'll surly end up dead."
Ranma paused. He didn't know what to do.
In his hesitation, Malachite made a move to Akane. "Perhaps I took the
wrong girl? Maybe this one will persuade you to relent in your pursuits,"
Malachite warned as he was about to grab Akane.
"Stay away from her!" shouted another voice. Malachite stopped and turned
to see another boy wearing a yellow bandanna about to strike him. "Baksie
Tenkitz!" Ryoga shouted as he lunged at Malachite.
Malachite managed to sidestep the attack and Ryoga ended up shattering the
entire face of the cavern wall. Suddenly, the entire cave began to shake.
This cave wasn't sturdy enough to withstand the structural damage.
Akane screamed as an rockslide was about to crush her. Ryoga rushed to save
her, but was too far away. "NO! I killed Akane," his mind screams.
Akane's whole body went limp as Ranma leaped at her, and both of them
tumbled into an enclave right before they were sealed off by the rubble.
Ryoga quickly ran to the sealed off exit and began digging through the
rubble, Boksie Tenkitzing the rocks while he was at it, but it only shattered
each piece of rubble, proving to be ineffective. He was about to let loose a
Chi blast when Malachite spoke.
"Stupid young man! Your interference ended up in the death of your friends.
I don't know who you are or how you got here, but prepare to join your
friends in death!"
"You'd better pray Ranma was able to save Akane, or death would seem
favorable to the torture I'd give you!"
Ryoga, never one to hold back, attacked Malachite. "Baksie Tenkitz!" he
cried as he shattered the ground beneath Malachite. Malachite leaped but the
explosion dazed Malachite as he landed back on the ground.
"Die!" Ryoga roared as he socked Malachite in the face with a straight
right. Ryoga's enormous strength sent Malachite crashing into the wall, as
pieces of stone crumpled onto him.
Ryoga was about to strike Malachite again when he disappeared. Ryoga
stopped and looked around him. The coward had fled!
Malachtie then reappears right behind him and swings both his fists against
Ryoga's back, crumpling him to the floor. As Ryoga began to rise, he grabbed
Ryoga's head and tried to snap his neck.
"Foolish mortal, feel your vertebrae pop!"
Ryoga, using most of his strength to keep his head facing the right
direction, slipped his belt loose, and snapped it so it was firm. He then
stabbed it behind him right into Malachite's stomach. He gasped as his neck
was relieved of pressure.
Malachite meanwhile, stumbled back, trying to contain the green oozing out
of him. He fell to his knees, completely dazzled by the sensations of pain
coursing through him. These three humans had done too much damage to him.
Ryoga recovered, and saw Malachite down. He decided to finish him off. He
leapt into the air and began throwing his bandanna's at Malachite.
Seeing the threat, Malachite regained his senses and incinerated the
bandanna's before they even got to him.
Still in the air, Ryoga shouted "Shi Chi Hokodan!" as his Chi blast flew at
Malachite. They hit Malachite's, but there was no effect. He had absorbed
the blast.
"I was ready for that this time," thought Malachite. He saw Ryoga
attempting to land on him and shot Ryoga's own Chi blast at him enhanced with
negaenergy.
"ARGH!" Ryoga wailed in pain as the blast seemed to burn into his very soul.
Ryoga fell to the ground, his whole body aching with pain. That was no Chi
blast; it was something alot stronger.
Malachite, getting his second wind, prepared to finish off Ryoga with
another energy ball.
Ryoga reacted as best as he could and sent his umbrella flying at Malachite.
Malachite was unable to react quickly enough because of the concentration
needed to charge the ball. He discharged the ball and moved, but the
umbrella scuffed his arm.
"Heh, the umbrella never worked before," though Ryoga as he got up and
prepared to let loose his fury on Malachite. Instead, he was knocked back to
the ground by a negaforce blast by Malachite. As he rolled onto his face to
get up, Ryoga felt something grab both his arms, and snap them back. "AHHH!"
he screamed in pain, but then the pain stopped in his arms. He couldn't feel
his arms at all.
Both Ranma and Akane awakened. They found each other in an awkward
position. Ranma was right on top of her. Ranma quickly scuttled off, but
couldn't get that far, the enclave was too small.
Akane, as usual, reacted angrily. "Ranma, you hentai! What were you doing
on top of me!"
"If you hadn't noticed, I was saving your life! I told you I was always
having to save your butt all the time, I guess this proves it even to a
stubborn idiot like you!"
Akane became quiet. Ranma was right, he had saved her life. Again. "I'm
sorry Ranma. I... I promise never to get in your way in a fight again," she
said right before he voice cracked. She could feel tears coming again. "I
know I'm no good in a fight; I'm good for nothing! I'll just... stay home
from now on."
Ranma suddenly felt guilty about this. He didn't mean to make her cry.
"Akane, it's not that you're good for nothing, or even bad at fighting.
You're just not as good as me," Ranma added, not able to resist. He began
to worry more when Akane didn't hit him in the face.
"Akane, it's not that you're always in my way, it's just that I don't want
to see you getting hurt. I'm willing to take the chance I'll get hurt, but
I'm not willing to take that chance with you," Ranma tenderly says.
Akane looked at Ranma again, with those eyes he saw earlier before this
whole mess began. Full of hope, the tears almost made the light in her eyes
shine even more thought Ranma.
"Why do you worry so much?" asked Akane.
"Uhhh, because... ummm...," stammers Ranma. "Because your dad would rip my
head off if you got hurt."
Akane began getting angry again, Ranma could feel her battle aura powering
up. This was a sign she was getting back to normal.
"And it'd be a waste if someone as cute as you got hurt," added Ranma.
Akane blushed, but realized Ranma had drawn that line between fighting and
actually *shiver* being nice to each other. It was time to get back to
normal.
"Thanks Ranma, I appreciate that. But both of us will be dead if we don't
get out of here fast."
"Yeah, we gotta find an exit," Ranma says as he licks his finger and lifts
it in the air.
"What are you doing?" asked Akane.
"What? This is what they do in the movies all the time. It's to feel if
there's any wind or something."
"Do you feel anything?"
"No."
"Then stop standing around like an idiot!"
Ranma began to feel along the walls. Akane tried to push against the
rubble.
"Ranma, could you knock this debris away with a Chi blast?"
"I could try, but if there's too much of it, it'd end up caving in on us and
killing us for good. Do you want to risk it?"
"Do we have any other choice?"
Ranma wiped his wet hands on his shirt, "I guess not."
Akane saw the wet marks he'd just left and quickly stopped him. "Ranma you
idiot, that's water! If it seeped through these walls, it's got to be real
close, probably no more than a few feet of wall to go through! Hurry up and
blast the spot!"
"If you say so," Ranma obeys as he lifts his hands against the wall.
There was something wrong with this plan, but Akane couldn't put her finger
on it. What was it? The wall? The caves were below sea level? "No Ranma,
STOP...!" Akane warns but it was too late.
"Mouko Takibishya!" shouts Ranma as he pulverizes the wall. Before they
knew it, water was gushing in with enormous force.
Ryoga had found to strength to turn around to see Malachite gloating over
him.
"You pathetic fool! Even after fighting that Ranma I was still more than
able to overcome you. You aren't even half as capable as the other boy!"
Ryoga began to sink in disappear. He was right. Akane was better off with
Ranma protecting her. Even without all his heart in it, Ranma was still a
better fighter than he was. He felt as if he should just let this guy kill
him. Akane wouldn't miss him.
Then, he heard Akane shout for Ranma to stop. What was that fiend doing to
her? They were trapped in the cave; in the dark. Together. Did that coward
think his death was at hand? Did he try to... to... before he died? Ryoga's
rage was reaching a fevered pitch. "Ranma, get the hell away from her!" he
shouted as he began to rush to the wall.
"I'm not through killing you yet whelp!" barked Malachite.
"Shut Up and Get Out of My Way!" ordered Ryoga. Not waiting for Malachite
to move, he yelled "Full Shi Chi Hokodan Blast!" as an enormous wave of Chi
energy crashed into Malachite.
It was so fast, Malachite couldn't fully charge his shield, but it proved
ineffective anyways as the blast ripped right through it and seared his
entire body. Malachite bounced off the wall in a mangled heap. His
breathing was ragged, and his body throbbed with pain. He had never known
suffering like this in his life. Then he lost consciousness.
"Akane, hold on! I'll save you!" Ryoga shouted as he reached the rubble.
He began plowing through the rocks at a remarkable rate. He could feel
something pushing the rocks back as well. His fingers touched on something
moist. "Water?" he thought right before the water pressure finally broke
through the rocks and engulfed the whole cave.
"Bweeee!" P-Chan cried as the currents carried him through the caverns. He
could see Ranma carrying Akane on his back as they were all swept through the
caves. The mad river began to flow through the caves like a bat out of hell.
"Venus, did you get the communicator to work yet?" asked Jupiter.
"Nope, I'm still getting static. I don't think it can work on the different
frequencies in the negaverse," answered Venus.
Mars suddenly stops.
"Something wrong Mars," asked Venus.
"I'm beginning to sense some bad vibes guys," Jupiter says in her best
Sailor Mars impression.
"Not funny Jupiter, and yes, I am sensing some bad... some negative energy,"
defends Mars.
"I guess I can't hide myself from you girls, can I?" Fossilite says as he
appears.
"Who the hell are you?" asked a startled Mars.
I guess you'll never know," replies Fossilite as he shoots a beam of energy
at the scouts. They all scatter.
Jupiter leaps right at Fossilite, but he puts up an energy shield that
Jupiter bounces off, and lands on her back. Fossilite then forms several
energy spikes and launches them at her. Jupiter flips away as the ground
behind her explodes.
"Mars Firebird Strike!" chants Mars as an enormous, fiery, phoenix forms and
launches itself at him.
Fossilite increases all the force of his shield to that one side, but the
shield absorbs only most of the blast. The remaining power is able to knock
him out of the air, onto his feet.
Now it was Venus' turn as she flies at Fossilite with her knee, and nails
him in the back. Fossilite falls onto his hands.
"Venus Chain...," she starts but before she can finish, Fossilite had
knocked her down with a negaforce blast.
"Damn children, prepare to perish!" cried Fossilite as he began charging up
with energy. While he was doing this, Jupiter bashes the back of his head
with a flying elbow. Fossilite recovers immediately and grabs Jupiter's pony
tail, and throws her to the ground.
Jupiter lands on her feet, but crumples to the ground when her still sore
knee gave up on her. She saw Fossilite's hands blazing before a wave of
energy launched at her.
"Jupiter Thunder Shield!" cries Jupiter as she slams her fist against the
ground. An electrical barrier suddenly surrounds her and absorbs the blast.
"How'd I do that?" wonders Jupiter. She puts off her question as Fossilite
continues his barrage of energy. She could feel her shield buckling under
the stress.
"You won't evade me so easily," shouts Fossilite.
"Mars Celestial Fire Surround," chants Mars as multiple circle's surrounds
her, right before dozens of fiery rings shoot out at Fossilite.
"Damnation's," curses Fossilite as he relents his attack on Jupiter and
forms a diamond shaped shield on his left forearm. The shield completely
protects his head, body, and left arm, but a few rings manage to slash his
unprotected parts. Fossilite would have noticed the lacerations if he wasn't
so busy forming a huge sword with his right hand.
Fossilite roared in anger as he swung the sword down at Mars. He struck the
ground as Mars leapt away, but slid his sword straight at her while digging
up tons of dirt. The debris created by his sword batter Mars and knocks her
down. Fossilite raises his sword for the death blow. "You shall be the
first to die by my sword!" he screams.
"Venus Love Chain Encircle!" cries Venus as her chain wraps around
Fossilite's right arm, burning it as it's grip tightened.
He howled in pain, before the sound of his rage drowned it out. His sword
disappeared, but a burst of energy shattered the chain. "This battle has
gone long enough. Tremble.. in fear... as I demonstrate my true power!" he
grumbles as he concentrated hard. His unique ability to manipulate negaverse
energy was the only reason Beryl had trusted him with this task. With this
power, he surrounded himself with an abundance of glowing energy, which began
to take form around him.
The scouts all covered their eyes to avoid the blinding light. When the
illumination had dimmed, the scouts could see Fossilite covered in some sort
of radiant armor that covered his entire frame, except for his glowing eyes.
Spikes protruded from every part of the armor, and on each arm were six feet
long blades. The Sailor Scouts had met their first mecha. "So he's got
armor? Big deal," taunted Jupiter.
"DIE!" he screamed as he dashed head first at the scouts. They scattered as
his blades pulverized the ground, sending off an explosion after it had hit.
The armor was not only solid, but still retained explosive capabilities.
"DIE!" he maniacally cries again as he unleashes balls of energy from his
hands.
The only reason the scouts were still alive was because this immature punk
had completely lost control. He was too busy destroying the cave than to
concentrate on actually a tactical strike against them. But they couldn't
avoid him for much longer.
"Mars, I need a distraction," implored Jupiter as she leaped over a blade.
"Why do I have to be a distraction," replied Mars as she ducked under a
blast.
"Cause I'm going to finish him off with my most powerful attack! I haven't
used all my attacks yet, while your power level is drained."
"Well, why doesn't Venus act as the decoy?"
"Goddamnit, I will," a frustrated Venus yelled as she leapt over an
explosion at Fossilite. "Venus Meteor Shower!" she cried as a glow emerged
from her fingertips. A beam of light shot out of them and then broke off
into numerous separate beams.
Fossilite shot a blast of energy that negated some of the beams, but other's
evaded the burst and burned right through his armor. And him.
Fossilite screamed in pain as he dropped to his knees. There were now holes
in his body in addition to the numerous cuts.
Jupiter saw her chance. She leapt into the air and cried "Jupiter Thunder
Dragon!" as lightning swirled above her, and took the shape of a dragon. It
launched itself at the still reeling Fossilite.
Fossilite shook in the air as the blast began to crack his armor. His pain
echoed throughout the caverns as his armor began to crumble. He fell to the
ground with a thud.
"It's over pal. Just give up now before we have to hurt you some more,"
warned Jupiter.
Through bloodied teeth, he sputtered out, "Not... through... yet. Too
late... for you... all!" he finished as the remaining parts of his armor
burst apart into hundreds of energy stars going in every direction. They
were going to dice the scouts to pieces.
Mars had a second to react to this. She quickly spun in the air with a
charm in her hand. As she spun, a trail of charms formed until they were all
surrounding her. "Mars Fireball Charge!" she shouted as she launched
hundreds of the charms, each one of them canceling out a spike until there
was neither of them left.
"Alright mister, you had your chance. Scouts, let's finish him," directed
Venus.
"Mars Fire Ignite!"
"Jupiter Thunder Crash!"
"Venus Crescent Beam Smash!"
All three of them shot their special power right at the crippled Fossilite.
As radiant, combustible, and electric energy smashed into him, he was flung
backwards. His whole body was on fire. He landed with a sickening squishing
sound.
"Oh my," he thought as he looked down and saw stalagmite where his chest
should have been. He thought it was funny that it didn't really hurt that
much. He couldn't even feel those cuts and holes in him anymore either.
"Oh my god," Mars gasped. "I... I didn't mean to do that."
"Jesus, we might've killed him," Venus said through her shock. "We've got
to help him," she blurted as she ran to lift him off the rock. Mars followed
her.
Fossilite could feel the girls trying to pry him off the rock. He didn't
really understand why they were doing this. He didn't really care either.
Heck, he was dying!
"Why are we doing this? He would've killed us if he had the chance," asked
Jupiter. "And we kill negaverse monsters all the time."
"Those monsters aren't really alive," retorted Venus. "Their really just
energy manipulations by the negaverse. They were never really conceived,
just suddenly formed. They have no mind of their own!"
"Mister, just try to relax," soothed Mars. She was trying to stop the
bleeding with the jacket he took off him, but the blood kept soaking through
it. "Jupiter, get over her and help me stop the bleeding!"
"my... my name is... Fossilite," he weakly wheezed. " I... I want
someone... to remember that name. Remembered... like Jeddite... like
Zoicite." He stopped talking as he couldn't really feel his mouth anymore.
It was like he wasn't in his body anymore. He had so hoped to leave a mark
in history, just like all the negaverse generals. And here he was, dying,
before he even reached that status. These scouts hadn't even known his name!
That damned Beryl, she knew he wasn't ready to fight them yet.
"Fossilite, don't worry, you're not going to die. You'll be fine. Talk to
us," Venus babbled as she took all his clothing off to clot the wound. "How
come you didn't mention Neflite?"
"Hmmm, Neflite. Did he really betray the negaverse? Did he find peace in
his death due to his selflessness," wondered Fossilite. "At least, I won't
end up at Queen Beryl's mercy, like Jeddite," was his final thought.
"Fossilite, Fossilite, talk to me," pleaded Mars, but their was no response.
"This is for the best," remarked Jupiter. "He would never have been more
than a menace to society if we had left him alive, and you all know that."
The debate regarding capitol punishment would have to wait (by the way, I'm
all for it). All of the sudden, the ground began to shake. A rumbling sound
could be heard from somewhere in the caverns.
"Do you hear that?" asked Jupiter. "Something's headed this way."
The scouts all got up to walk towards the sound. The vibrations were
getting stronger. Their eyes all bulged when they saw the tidal wave headed
towards them.
"Run! Run like the wind," Venus cried, but it was no use. The wave
swallowed them and Fossilite up like they were ants. They were too busy
trying not to drown, least of all worried about where the current was taking
them.
