Hera is the goddess of marriage and the home.  She is quite vengefull
and never forgets a slight.  She will destroy any woman her man

Shampoo not vengeful (ahem) I mean, Shampoo isn't vengeful. If she
destroys her rivals it's simply to have them out of the way. 

Note that Green (Hera) doesn't mind whose fault it was, if her man did
another woman, then she's going to die, but if Akane sees another girl
kissing Ranma, she'll hit him, because it's probally his fault.

Because Ranma lets her get away with it, whereas there's not much that
Hera could do to Zeus. Likewise, Zeus' women are at Hera's mercy,
while Akane can't do much to Ranma's other women who are more powerful
Martial Arts Goddesses than she is.
