My college's anime club had just shown the entire All Purpose Cultural Cat
Girl Nuku Nuku trilogy, and the only thing I can say is "spectacular!
Awesome! And Gotta Love it!" In my craving to get more Cat Girl stuff as
possible, I've read Richard Lawson's fanfics on APCCGNN and bought all three
tapes from AD Vision. (At thirty bucks a pop, I had to do some begging, and
donating my body to the psychology lab at Yale to get cash.) Well, now I've
decided to follow the example set by Lawson and write my own APCCGNN fanfic.
Unlike his fics, which are generally of a serious nature, and have a
constant theme of love, here is my fic which aims to pick up where the OAV
series left off.

By the way... this is WIP [work in progress] meaning that Part 1 isn't done!

Phase VII

It had been days since Nuku Nuku and Eimi had destroyed the Mishima
Heavy Industries War Satellite, and they haven't returned yet. Kyusaku
paced nervously back an forth in his room, chewing his nails constantly,
worrying about his "daughter." Considering how the events had been
unfolding, he silently swore at himself, for overreacting to Nuku Nuku's
destruction of several buildings, and disrupting traffic. 'She has a good
heart, I know it. It's just that she get's too playful that's it.'

"Kyusaku!" The monitor on his PC sparked to life, and the image of
Akiko focused on. Her face was still quite stuck in outrage, as she
screamed at him. "What is this! You now owe me 45 billion dollars! That
space shuttle was a very expensive piece of equipment! How could I ever
explain to my grandfather that it was destroyed!" Kyusaku froze, his mind
thinking of Nuku Nuku being blown up to bits, or being burnt up in the
atmosphere. His face visible paled, to the point that even Akiko stopped
her tirade.

Akiko watched the color drain from her husband's face, and she couldn't
help but feel a whit of sympathy for him. Despite their differences, both
seemed to still love in each other, but they had chosed to show it in their
own special way. Akiko thought about the last time they were together, on
that fateful Christmas Eve, a few days ago. She shuddered slightly, as she
remembered Kyusaku, overjoyed at Nuku Nuku's success, had hugged her. Not
some simple hug either, it was a body crushing full contact kind of hug.
Akiko didn't shudder with distaste or displeasure. Contrarily, Akiko was
simply afraid.

Kyusaku nodded as he shook off Akiko's words. "Not a problem, I'll find
the 45 billion dollars." he said without thought, and he tuned out the
visual connection. Depressed, he sat back and thought about his daughter.

Ryunosake too missed Nuku. Despite the fact that she sometimes acted
too instinctively, she always followed her heart. Grumbling, he sat in the
tiny living room, waiting for her to return. He missed Eimi, the other
android who always picked on Nuku Nuku. Even she had her good moments, and
Ryu sat back thinking, 'Maybe she would cool down a bit (pun not intended)
if I got Dad to work on her a little.'

Ryu, pleased with his solution, stood up, and ran to his father's
bedroom/mini-laboratory. Not bothering to knock, Ryu burst into the room,
and the first thing he noticed was his father crying away like crazy. "Eh!
Dad? What's wrong?"

Kyusaku wailed. "Nuku Nuku's been blown into atoms!" He continued
crying as he repeated what happened to the shuttle. "The shuttle was
destroyed!" Ryunosake stumbled backwards. Nuku Nuku, dead? Never!

"Ah, Dad? Do you think that's true? Nuku Nuku's taken a lot before?
I don't think she's dead! She can't be dead!" Ryunosake's voice started to
get a crazed tone as he thought of life without Nuku Nuku. She was just the
older sister that he always needed. She was the surrogate mother that
always helped him. She was just an important part of his family that he
couldn't bare to think of life without her. Eimi too. Suddenly he had an
inspiration.

Drawing back on his astronomy lessons in class, he asked his father.
"Why don't we double check? I bet you could tap into the Mishima deep space
radar and check!" Kyusaku stood up, obviously impressed with his son, and
his fervent hope showed in his voice

"Yes. Yes! Yes!! Why didn't I think of that?" Kyusaku turned back
to his terminal, and began to furiously type.

Arisa sighed as she felt the freezing water slowly numb her legs. It
had been days since they had crashed down in the Pacific, and certainly, MHI
had been taking their time trying to find them. Of course, Akiko, if she
was alive, had probably no idea that they were alive, and soaking their
butts off in the ocean.

"Arisa! I found it!" Arisa's blond haired companion emerged from the
floating remains of the cabin, waving a small yellow box. "This is our
ticket home! It's the emergency transponder. Just one ring, and we'll be
saved!"

"What are you waiting for? Push the button!"

Elsewhere, in Akiko's office, her computer started to beep crazily,
drawing Akiko's attention from the telephone to the screen. A new window
popped up, showing a highly stylized and rendered image of the globe. The
globe slowly rotated around, as in deep space, a Mishima Spy satellite
locked in on a tiny beacon. On the satellite, tiny bursts of gas from the
hydrazine engines slowly pushed the satellite into geosynchronous orbit over
the crash site of the Mishima Space Shuttle.

Akiko's heart slowly raced, as the satellite's super powerful camera
slowly zoomed in on the tiny beacon. Gradually, the screen slowly refreshed
itself to reveal the thrown debris, and two heat signatures among the
wreckage. Akiko stood up shocked, and stared at the monitor, as the
computer started to display a thermogram of the area. Two distinct red
spots on the screen. Grabbing her mouse, Akiko fiddled around for a bit,
and the computer did its probablistic analysis of the heat signatures.

     It was Arisa and Kyoko.

"I'm so hungry." Nuku Nuku lamented as she felt her stomach gurgle for
the umpteenth time. Despite her robotic nature, her "father" had managed to
design a piece of hardware that attempted to emulate normal biological
creatures as possible. She could feel the slightest touch. She had hunger.
She has specialized sensors that detected taste and smell that served as a
mechanism for her to taste foods. Nuku Nuku sat on a floating piece of
wreckage, the remains of Mishima Industry's super war-bot.

"Ah, can it, would you!" Eimi grumbled. She had been tired listenning
to Nuku Nuku complain about her hunger almost constantly for the past few
days. It wasn't as much as Nuku's actually complaining, it was more of her
constant wishing for fish. 'I can't understand how she could crave fish
like that!'

Nuku Nuku mumbled, as she tried to take her mind off of food. "When
Papa-san learns where we are, he'll get another space shuttle and rescue us.
And after we get back home, he'll be so happy that Nuku Nuku saved Mama-san
that he'll give us all fish! And...Ow! Eimi-chan?!" Eimi had gotten
quite sick of Nuku Nuku's constant wishing for fish, that she had knocked
her on the head.

Both androids started to tear into each other.

"Ah ha! Nuku Nuku and Eimi are alive!" Kyusaku and Ryunosake stared at
the computer monitor, which was currently showing a radar scan of space.
Among the wreckage of the old robot, there were two clearly moving objects.
"It must be Nuku Nuku and Eimi! We must get another shuttle!" Kyusaku
picked up Ryu, and ran out the door.

A guard knocked on the door, and walked in escorting Kyusaku and
Ryunosake. "Lady Akiko." Bowing deeply, the guard walked out of the room,
leaving the three alone. Akiko and Kyusaku began to speak simultaneously.

Kyusaku motioned his hands. "Go ahead, Akiko-chan." He almost stopped
himself, and he turned his head away. It just wasn't good to reveal your
true thoughts...

Akiko froze momentarily, and she decided to give the low-down on the
situation. "We've found the shuttle, and Arrisa and Kyoko are alive. I
can't find Nuku Nuku or SNK-98." Kyusaku smiled deeply, and started to laugh.

"Ryu and I, we found Nuku Nuku and Eimi. They're still in space. I
just need to get you to send a shuttle up, and retreive them both." Akiko
smiled to herself. For once, her husband was in a position to beg from her.
Her mind grinned to herself as she leaned over her desk. Deep within her
mind, she already planned to allocate another shuttle to rescuing the two
androids, but she wanted to play a little bit.

"Well, Kyusaku, Dear, it's funny that you should ask me. The
destruction of the last shuttle was a huge loss to M.H.I. Grandfather was
furious, and he said that he won't be able to send any shuttle launches for
a year." Both Kyusaku and Ryunosake looked at each other dumbfounded. "Of
course, I could try to pull a few strings, but you'll need to make it worth
my while." Akiko smiled at Kyusaku. Kyusaku swallowed visibly.

Ryunosake raised his voice. "Mom! Why doesn't Dad just finish the
SNK-98 project for you?" Akiko paused, for Ryunosake's suggestion was quite
reasonable. First of all, the SNK project was almost completely, and the
project was within Kyusaku's field of expertise.

Kyusaku looked at his son, who was silently pleading, and looked at
Akiko, who was triumphant. Gritting his teeth, for his son and daughter's
sake, Kyusaku swallowed his pride, and nodded faintly. Akiko stood up.
"Very well, you will begin work on SNK-98 immediately! Now go before I
change my mind!"

Kyusaku beated a hasty retreat, leaving Ryunosake behind. Akiko
immediately softened, as she turned to her son.

* * *

Kyusaku swore as he stared at the rebuilt schematics to the SNK-98
android prototype. Leafing through page after page, Kyusake whistled as he
looked at the amount of electronics packed into such a small space. It was
no wonder that the SNK-98 ever spontaneously exploded. All of the weaponry
and hardware that was crammed into that tiny body, it was not hard to
understand why the SNK-98 ran hot. Grumbling to himself, Kyu began his task
of rebuilding SNK-98. Aptly, he renamed his design SNK-99.

Despite his wounded pride, Kyu smiled to himself, thinking about the
lasting impression he was going to give to Akiko. With his pencil, he began
to complicated task of designing SNK-99. A couple thoughts floated around
in his mind, and among them was the complete conversion of SNK-98 into a
non-war robot, as well as an improved heat control mechanism.

Grumbling to himself, he wired up the last remaining SNK-98 prototype,
and positioned himself behind a blast shield. Slowly, he made the robot
work faster and faster, and as the heat level rapidly escalated, Kyusaku
observed the computer thermogram of the android.

* * *

Akiko watched her son with complete admiration. Although she didn't
want to admit it, her husband had done a decent job of raising Ryunosake.
Ryunosake had an independent air, and he barely seemed angered at all. He
was merely staring out the giant glass wall at the sky above. "Mom, do you
think Nuku Nuku will come back alright?" Akiko, hearing the name of her
dreaded foe, stiffened slightly. Deep within her mind, plans for the
destruction and final defeat of Nuku Nuku were still brewing, but seeing her
son, brought out the better side of her. Besides, Nuku Nuku did save
Akiko's life.

"Ryu-chan! Don't worry! Mother will bring back Nuku Nuku!" Ryunosake
smiled deeply, and he embraced Akiko. Somehow, Ryunosake's hug plowed over
Akiko's hatred for Nuku Nuku, and she sighed, content with her life. Then,
following through with her promise, Akiko picked up the phone, and called in
the orders to send Mishima Shuttle Two to inspect the wreckage of the
satellite. Finally, putting the phone down, Akiko turned to Ryunosake,
prepared to have some quality time with him while her pesky husband was away
working.

However, their peace was interrupted by the sounds of a loud explosion
and the severe jarring of the building. Ryunosake knew that M.H.I. was
primarily a defense contractor, but he had no clue what could have generated
such a powerful tremor. "Mom? What was that?" Akiko had no chance to
answer, for her telephone rang like crazy.

"Lady! There was an explosion from the SNK-98 lab! The fire is not
stable! We must evacuate the sector!" Akiko swallowed hard, trying not to
think of her husband's body burnt to a crisp. Nervously, she stared at the
computer monitor, as a update of the casualties slowly added up on the
screen. She silently prayed that Kyusaku wouldn't show up on the screen.

However, her worries proved to be quite unbased, when a smoking Kyusaku
kicked open the door with a huge grin on his face. Ignoring his half burnt
clothes, his blacked boxers, his frazzled hair, and his shattered cigarette,
Kyusaku sauntered up to Akiko's desk, and laughed crazily. Akiko adapted a
tone of superiority. "So, what did you find? And why did the lab explode?"

Kyusaku laugh, his body tremoring, causing bits of ash to fall off.
"Ha! No wonder SNK-98 had a heat problem! You were trying to do the
impossible! There's no way that you can cram a weapon into SNK-98! It's
too dangerous!" Kyusaku laughed as he thought about his old professor, who
also had strong anti-war beliefs. His professor was just not capable of
designing a weapon of destruction. But surprisingly, SNK-98 did turn out to
be a formidable opponent.

Nuku Nuku yawned as she looked down lazily at the earth below, and
sleep took hold of her. She watched a beautiful plume of smoke slowly get
bigger and bigger, and she tapped Eimi on the shoulder. In a soporific
voice, Atsuke giggled as she pointed at the beautiful swirling cloud.
"Eimi-chan! Look a pretty cloud..."

Eimi groaned, and she turned to look at the thing Nuku Nuku was
pointing at. Besides, in space, there wasn't much to do. Her eyes widened
as she realized that the the plume of smoke was the trail of a space
shuttle. She actually, for once, hugged Nuku Nuku and shouted over the
radio. "Nuku Nuku! It's a space shuttle! They are trying to rescue us!"

Nuku Nuku smiled in her sleep, and mumbled. "That's nice Eimi-chan.
Nuku Nuku is going to sleep now." Sighing quite loudly, Eimi knocked Nuku
Nuku on the head. But before they could start fighting, a giant
electromagnetic arm plucked them out from the wreckage, and they were placed
into the cargo hold of the space shuttle.

* * *

Four hours later, after orbitting earth a couple times, the shuttle
setted down at the Mishima Industries private airbase. Nuku Nuku grinned as
she sleeped, apparently unaffected by the massive g-forces that had driven
Eimi nuts.

Eimi stumbled off the aircraft, feeling her skin was completely
stretched out, while Nuku Nuku cheerfully stepped out of the shuttle. The
entire Natsume family was on the ground to greet them. Immediately, Kyusaku
and Ryunosake hugged Nuku Nuku, almost knocking her off her feet, a feat
that was practically impossible. Eimi groveled a bit, not surprised that no
one really paid attention to her.

She was completely surprised by Ryunosake, who without thought also
hugged Eimi. He whispered into her ear. "Thanks. I got Dad to work on
building you a new body." Ryunosake smiled as went to join Nuku Nuku and
his father. Eimi-chan, despite her android nature, stood there rooted to
the spot, completely shocked at the sudden hope in her future. Akiko
grabbed Eimi's hand, and tried to pulled her to the armored truck designated
for her.

"Come along SNK-98. We need to deactivate you." Eimi tried to fight
back, but the forty armed men who appeared out of another vehicle convinced
her otherwise.

Ryunosake looked back, and was surprised to see Eimi being led to an
armored vehicle, obviously against her own will. Feeling sorry for the
android, Ryunosake ran to his mother, and held her hand. "Mother, couldn't
you let SNK-98 come with us? I promise she won't cause any trouble."

Under any normal circumstance, Akiko would have been as firm as iron,
and refused the request. But since this was her son Ryunosake begging her,
her will became as soft as melting butter, and she signalled the men to
release Eimi. Ryunosake smiled, and he gave his mother a quick kiss on the
cheek that made her feel dizzy. She watched passively as Ryunosake grabbed
Eimi's hand, and pulled the android to Kyusaku's car.

One of the men looked at Akiko who didn't move at all. "Um, Lady Akiko?"

* * *

At Ryunosake's request, Kyusaku had driven to Yoshimi's house. "Sorry
Dad, Nuku Nuku, Eimi, but I want Yoshimi-chan to come celebrate with us."
Eagerly, Ryunosake bolted from the car, and he ran to the apartment complex
that Yoshimi lived in.

Kyusaku leaned back in his chair, quite content with the way that life
was unfolding for him. He had his daughter back. He already had the plans
to SNK-99 finished, and his son was having a fun life. He was surprised,
when Eimi spoke up. "Who is Yoshimi?"

Nuku Nuku smiled, and she said quite loudly. "Yoshimi-chan is
Ryunosake's girl friend." Eimi paused for a moment as she tried to
comprehend the meaning of girl friend. Unfortunately, she was just an
android, and she couldn't really understand the meaning of girlfriend. In
fact, she couldn't really understand feelings at all. She was quite
surprised that NK-1124 was capable of a wide spectrum of feelings, unlike her.

"Nuku Nuku? Do you have feelings?" These recent events had forced
Eimi to really think about her real nature. Even to herself, she was
nothing more than a simple robot. A little toy that men could play with,
tell to do something. She knew that she was not a living thing, and that
made her hate herself. Eimi stopped, and realized that much of her emotions
were based on hate. She had hated Akiko, she had hated Nuku Nuku. She was
quite neutral to Kyusaku, but strangely enough, Ryunosake was the only
person she had ever met that she had no maligned thoughts about. Whenever
she had seen Ryu, she had a brief moment where she'd have a feeling that was
immediately electronically surpressed.

Nuku Nuku laughed nervously. "Oh Eimi-chan, of course I get feelings!"
She smiled very sincerely, making Eimi feel even worse. Kyusaku grinned,
and he too laughed.

He added. "Nuku Nuku is as human as a human can ever be." His
complement had the effect of making Nuku Nuku laugh, and Eimi even more
depressed.

"I'm back!" Ryunosake openned the door, for a girl his age. She
walked in, and sat next to Eimi. Ryunosake climbed in himself, and closed
the door behind him. With his hand, he presented introduced the two girls.
"Yoshimi-chan, this is Eimi." Yoshimi smiled as she shook Eimi's hand.

She turned to Kyusaku. "Mr. Natsume! What's the surprise?" Kyusaku
smiled deeply, and he turned around. "We're going to a seafood restaurant."
Nuku Nuku laughed as she thought about fish, fish, and more fish.

* * *

[Two months later]

"Good morning, Nuku Nuku, Professor Natsume, Ryu!" Eimi greeted her
"family" as she crawled out of the tiny cubicle that used to serve as
Kyusaku's office. Glad with the results of SNK-99, and completely
disregarding Akiko's rage, Kyusaku invited Eimi to stay indefinitely with
his family.

"Good morning!" said a smiling Nuku Nuku who had two frying pans, ready
to wake Ryunosake. She walked into Ryunosake's room, and beating the two
pans together, she shouted. "Good Morning! Wake up Ryunosake! Time to go
to school! We need to go before Mama-san comes!" Eimi groaned as she
remembered trying to get used to the usual daily schedule. With her super
sensitive ears, she could pick up the sounds of Poison 2 flying in the
distance.

Ryunosake groaned, as he climbed out of bed five minutes later than
usual. He stumbled into the bathroom, where he proceeded to brush his teeth
rather slowly. Nuku Nuku shouted. "Ryunosake! Hurry! Mama-san is coming!
We don't want to play with Papa-san and Mama-san!" Ryunosake grabbed his
satchel and ran for the door, as soon as a hail of missiles crashed into the
building.

Shouting in fear, Ryunosake tried to run faster, but was surprised when
he was lift off his feet, and someone carried him out the door extremely
quick. He was about to say. "Thank you Nuku Nuku," when he noticed that
Eimi had carried him out the door. Suffice to say, Eimi was completely
different from last time. She had a "complete cybernetic body" as Kyusaku
liked to say. Unlike Nuku Nuku, whose body was 100% robotic, covered with
biological materials, Eimi had a dynamic biotech skeleton, preprogrammed to
grow as if she were human. She needed to eat food to survive, and once in
awhile have special supplements to maintain her body.

Physically, considering the fact that the real Eimi had died four months
after Kyusaku had graduated from college, Eimi was now the exact size and
"age" when she had died. She was Ryunosake's age. And Kyusaku had been
surprised to find Eimi's complete brain within SNK-98, that he had made a
instant redesign and tore out much of the secondary CPU's within the SNK-99
prototype, and allowed Eimi's brain to take control of 80% of the body,
which was amazing for Kyusaku, to say the least. In short, for the normal
layman who didn't understand the garbage that Kyusaku loved to spew out,
Eimi had become a human being within a cybernetic body.

"Thanks Eimi!" Ryunosake managed to stutter out, still in shock from
seeing missiles flying straight at him.
