Second, the ceremony has ALREADY been held in Joketsuzoku, in front of
the entire village.  Ranma formally challenged Shamp and won.  From that
moment on, they were married. (At least in Joketsuzoku, after Ranma's
true nature was revealed)

     Didn't the custom merely *REQUIRE* Poo to marry Ranma. I didn't think
that it made them husband & wife already, just forced into marriage.

Third, if Ranma was to marry Akane at this point, their marriage would
be recognised in China in general (by this treaty), but not
Joketsuzoku. (It might make visiting the springs a mite difficult...)

     It didn't apply retroactively, remember. That means regardless if
Shampoo thinks she's married to Ranma (already), she's not.
