Hello all.
I was just wondering if anyone would like to help me here.
I need to know a little bit about Nodoka, as I am writing something
with her in it and I don't want to get her too OCC. All I know about
her is from the OAV I'll be the one to inherit mothers recepies(or whatever).

Nodoka

Entrance: V22.2, Nettouhen part 142

Agreed to let Ranma leave and train with Genma, but became concerned
when Genma's letters stopped (she got none after he left for China),
and started looking for her son and husband.

Distinctive features: A good-looking woman, who dresses in traditional
clothing, and often carries a sword wrapped in cloth.

What is that long wrapped up object she carries?
A traditional Japanese sword, in case she needs to use it to help
Ranma and Genma commit seppeku.

Does she resemble Ranma?
When she first shows up, onna-Ranma and Nodoka are sitting next to
each other, and Nabiki says Ranma really looks like his mother when
sitting next to her.

Why did she marry someone like Genma?
As with why Genma married her, we just don't really know.

Why did she let Genma take Ranma from her, to train him?
Because she believed Genma when he said that motherly love would
interfere with his training, so she reluctantly let them go, and only
because Genma made such a strong promise to raise Ranma as a man.

Would she really demand Ranma and Genma commit Seppeku if she found
out about Ranma's curse?

Most likely, but only if she believed that Ranma truely wasn't manly.
In V34.9 she finds Ranma wearing girl's clothes (not his fault) and
puts on her formal clothes for seppeku and does the same with Ranma,
takes out her sword, makes a few practice swings, and finds Ranma has
run just before she can finally see his face properly.

[Personally I doubt she really would have held Genma to his promise
under any circumstances. -- G.K.]

In V36, she finally finds out that Ranma is cursed (and Genma as
well), but she doesn't make him commit seppeku, because 'Ranko' had
been acting manly - ie Ranma still manly even when he's female.

How would she decide whether Ranma is 'manly' or not?

She hopes to find Ranma strong, macho and good-looking, and anything
cross-dressers would do would defiantly not be manly. However, she
does think it is manly for him to peep on girls.
