It all comes down to this: If you can't say anything nice, don't say

like to hear other peoples' opinion on the general question here.
What kind of criticisms should be posted to the list?

I've always felt personally that I'd like to hear any kind of reaction
to my work. And if it's done publically, it gives somebody else the
chance to stand up and say "no, you're wrong. Gary's story did
_not_suck." (BTW, Misa-chan's "A Lesson in Love" did _not_ suck. Quite
the contrary, it was very good IMHO.)

I myself have posted C&C on a story (Full Salvo) where I said, in
effect, that we've seen a lot of this kind of story before. I'm now
finding myself genuinely guilty about doing it.

None of this is meant to show disrespect for Misa-chan's feelings on
this matter. I'm just trying to sort through my own. Perhaps each
author ought to say what his/her policy on C&C is at the beginning of
each story?
