        Posting to the general public that you dislike a story without
giving the basis for your dislike could be considered by some people as
rude. That isn't criticism... that's just stating a personal opinion. Which,
while it may carry some weight, shouldn't really be allowed to unduely
influence those who haven't read it yet. Right? 
        And while I will admit this is a double edged sword, meaning that
positive fic reviews might give a reader too high an expectation of a
particular fic, at least, the positive review encourages the person to read
rather than DIScouraging them, allowing them to make up their own minds
about it.
