I wrote this a five (?) weeks ago while I was still in the Navy. The
working title was "Doing Right by Ukyo," in response to how I've treated
her in Chasing the Wind. Many thanks to Sean, Jen, and Bridget for their
C&C.

When I first started readin this, I thought "oh no, some avitar or the author
himself is going to get her." I was pleasently surprised by the fact that
it didn't turn out that way.

I've never been keen on self-insertion fics, but felt it was the best
way to get my point across.
For me to 'get her' would be to go completely against what I was trying
to say.

"Please, no revenge stuff. The people on the mailing list have
suffered enough of that. I'm still trying to fix everything the
Generalissimo messed up. And having Azusa for a bodyguard..."

heh. Sorry my Legion wasn't that much help there. Our next plan got hung
up on a few details, like how we'd locate enough telepaths to locate the
subs, and we finally had to drop it because of school. So, is the
Generalissimo finally defeated?

The Generalissimo was attacked in my barracks room while torturing me.
Lucas 'Ranchan' Muzzatti sent Azusa Shiratori and her 'Kawaii Cavalry'
(Every cutesy character in anime mind you, plus a slew of cabbits) to my
rescue after he had figured on a possible weakness of the
Generalissimo's. I myself cannot abide by things kawaii, and the
Generalissimo had an even lower tolerance. He was overwhelmed, which led
to an even faster acceleration of his decrepitude. He didn't last the
night before he died. No one was sure of his fate until much later, as
he Jaunted away. That's how I ended up with Azusa for my bodyguard. You
wouldn't believe the time I had trying to keep her from stealing her
darling USS Charlotte. That thing weighs about 6800 tons, I don't know
how she lifted it out of the water...

The ending there was just beautiful. *My* eyes were misty, and I'm not
usually effected like that by fiction. Good job.

Thank you! Hopefully Ukyo will get the message.
