Oh yes. Hiro was going to die in the finale. But like I said, by about
Part 5 I decided to let him live. After that it was just a question of
making it look good. (And don't tell me you didn't think he was dead
after his standoff with Palandir.) I think Hiro has earned a reprieve
from death in any future stories that might feature him.
 

Seriously though, Hiro is one of the best author created characters I've
seen in these 'fics.  He fits in with this Ranma cast well without
gaining super powers.  Plus I like him a lot.

I'm glad you feel that way. That was one of my prime intentions for
Hiro. He is only briefly mentioned in RGTW, and doesn't really come into
the story until RGTW2, but I wanted him to be the average guy in the
middle of a bunch of High Octane Ki-Blast Throwin' martial artists and
still hold his own. Though he can't fight like the others can, he has
his own little niche, and carries on through determination and a fierce
sense of loyalty to Ranma and Akane. (The reason he was going to die was
for their sake.)
 

storyline, I'll do that. I don't think we'll be seeing Aerandir and
company again, except as well disguised cameos. Hiro will be back, at
least for the Wedding.

Hmm.  I don't know.  I think the Mains were very interesting and well
developed.  Their position of guarding/helping humanity is also a very
good reason to be able to include them in future stories.  At the least
they could be helping Ranma and co. in future world saving endevors
from at least the background.

One thing I didn't want the Maiar to become in the story were gods. If
they were, they wouldn't need Ranma and Company to settle their
problems. Nevertheless, they are very powerful, and I was walking on a
tightrope to keep them from overshadowing Ranma and Company. I had to
keep them supporting characters/villains. I think while they will be
there in the background watching and keeping an eye out for them, they
will have virtually no interaction with the cast in future stories.
About the only place I could see them in public with the cast again
would be the Prince of Monaco's next charity ball. (Ranma and Co are all
invited, and Aerandir shows up every year.)
