Hi, could someone send me "The Nature of Love" ? Thanks!!
An Open Comment to the FanFic Mailing List:
Not to start a flame war, but, there have been far too many of these
requests on the FFML of late. This might seem like a silly, or even
unwarranted reminder to some members here, but this ML is NOT
now, nor has it ever been, a subbranch of AOL!
The polite, and proper way, to track down missing fanfics is to:
a) email the author of the particular story you want
b) check the FFML remailer (see FAQ for details)
c) see if the RAAC archives have a copy
One of the above methods will obviate any need to add bandwidth to
an already overloaded ML, ne? Courtesy is such a nice quality, and
it can preserve you from irate flames...
This cautionary message is especially intended for those entities who
have a mail problem, and then, oh so nicely, ask that several hours,
or even several DAYs, worth of posts be transmitted to them!!! Get
f**king real - you just do NOT do this kind of crap on a busy ML
like this one! You missed out, so sorry, but that's life. You can email
the authors for the fanfics that were posted but the comments are
GONE. Live with it - don't haunt the rest of us.
Damn, these AOL-type "gimme" requests don't even rate the title of
"spam", they're just a pita...
johnd
ps Flames always welcome, always read, and always deleted... (unless
you send me a spectacular FLAME, in which case I'll save it ^_^)
pps WW, I'm at it again [sigh] Involuntary Traffic cop is such a pita...
