Well, you know, Ranma *did* hit Akane in the "koi fishing rod" story. 
Kicked her, actually.  Not a "boot into LEO" kick, but a "I'm going to
hurt you" kick.  Akane blocks it (although it knocks her down), then
gets rescued by Ryoga before Ranma can continue his attack.

Of course, at the time Ranma was suffering from the effects of having a
koi magically implanted on his breast by Ryoga...
