Maybe, but "Akane and I" is still wrong. "I" is used when it is the
subject, while "me" is used everwhere else. It should be "Akane and me", as
Sebastian said.
Those that think "Akane and I" is correct are suffering from a prescriptive
grammar error called "Overcompensation". "Akane and I" is fine for "Akane
and I went to the market." (and "*** and me" as a subject is a common
error) but not for "Kasumi met Akane and I."
Let me put it this way: Is "Kasumi met I" correct? No. So why should adding
"Akane and" before "I" make it correct?
Remember, I'm the one who just finished the Linguistics course. I know this
stuff. ;)
