I disagree. We are thinking through Ranma's eyes, and Ranma 
didn't see himself as a number, nor did the identity of #6. 
However, in the real Prisoner, we can't get inside of 
Patrick McGoohan's head so easily. I think the author is 
doing a really good job and I just  can't see that it would 
be better the other way. If he never said who the 
characters were, it wouldn't be a Ranma fic, it would be a 
psuedo-Prisoner fic.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't post a reply to every single post you 
read on the ML, people will start jumping on your back 
because it is in the realm of "SPAM" that lunchmeat which 
people with teeny tiny mailbox quotas (Hi Kim!) so despise. 
Unless you have a deep digression you want to share with 
the list it is best advised (FAQ stature 12980249 BA) (Hi 
Saf and Panda!) that you send it personally to the author 
and not the whole list.
