Personally, I don't think it's a problem with only Akane. I think that
EVERY character in this (and the previous one) were very harsh, nasty
and I hated every one of the characters.

Kentaro - Basically I hated him from the beginning, so there's no point
in me saying more than that. :p

Ranma - He was a two-faced, lying bastard/bitch (whichever sex you see
him as). He was also very slutty in The Nature of Love, saying he felt
unfaithful to Akane, then tried to get into bed with Kentaro moments
later.

Nodoka - She was so heartless it wasn't funny. Although she did forgive
Ranma for being female, etc, she was as bad as Genma is normally, if not
worse.

Genma - Well, even in Thy Outward Part he was VERY horrible and nasty.
It seems he got *slightly* better in The Nature of Love, but not by much.

Souun - Didn't see much of him, but he seemed to mirror Genma, except
he had one of those demon-head things going on in there, somewhere.

Kasumi - She frowned - scary! But I guess she was the nicest of the lot,
but she seemed to turn against her family to be on Kentaro's side. *shrug*

Nabiki - Well, pretty must like 'normal', but she was really biting on
top of that ... And she got angry rather often.

Akane - Half bitch, half betrayer, half giving in *way* too easily, too.
Also rather violent, but in a nasty way.

The ending may have nicened them up and made them all happy-happy together,
but that just doesn't mesh with how they are portrayed through out the rest
of the two 'fics. (Didn't see any updates Richard may have done.) But it
just didn't fit at all ... They're all nasty and horrible to each other.
They were not shown as forgiving *at all* through the 'fic ... Then suddenly
at the end, they all forgive each other and live <whatever>ly ever after.

It seems that all of the bad and violent sides of the Ranma characters
were magnified, while the good and comedeic sides were totally removed.
They were also all 'honoured up' a lot ... Seems like Nodoka's honour
was taken and blown up to gigantic proportions and given to all of the other 
characters ... *shrug*

Personally, I'd like to take a machine gun to the lot of them (Tendos,
Saotomes and Kentaro) and end the 'fic while they're all together at the 
Tendou-ke. They all deserve it!
