just curious, folks, but with the recent 'desert island' thread
type things and such, how'd you rate the writers out there in
terms of the following?
HORROR:
(I think a Willmore joke would probbably fit in here, considering
a certain candle-flame fanfic of his...) ;) Seriously, though,
considering what he's DONE to his characters in Ranma2096
and in other fics, well, Willmore's got the nod here.
MYSTERY:
There was a fic a while back where Ranma was murdered, Ukyou was
insane, and Ryouga had won Akane's heart, but there was a dark
secret about Ranma's death. Darn I forgot the name of that
fic or the author, but the story unfolded like a nice mystery.
DRAMA:
for me, Richard Lawson & J.Palmer have a lock on this genre.
Lawson's TIL and TOPart, and Palmer's 'Seasons' fics, they're
both well-done, highly polished, reads. Gotta mention Gagne
and Biles here too, and if you don't know why, it'd take me
too long to explain....
ADVENTURE:
Ergh... can't think of too many fics that qualify for this
catergory, but then again I am forgetful. At the moment,
though, J.Austin Wilde's 'Chasing The Wind' stands out
as one of the best of the year, certainly. Ranma & Akane
travelling across the world to find the secret to an ancient
mystery? In theory, a cheezy formula, but Wilde has taken
it and made it work, and work well. Also gotta mention Ross
McKenzie's 'Descents and Inversions'... can't explain it
in words, properly, it's just a good, fast-paced read.
COMEDY:
Again, gotta mention Biles (Lemon Sherbert, anyone?)
Also, Mike Loader's 'The Nameless Saga' and 'Sequel'
fit right in. WHat else... I know I'm forgetting something...
there's Mihoshi's 'You Can't Do That On Ranma 1/2'
fic, just flat-out comedy, pure, simple, and effective.
LEMON:
Er....... given that the only lemon writer I'm
familiar with is Kun-chan.... n.n;;;
well, there's probbably some that I'm forgetting at the moment (anyone
that knows me can tell you my nickname ougtha be 'Shinnosuke') and
apologies to those that I have... n.n;
