If you think Totoro is great, check out some of Miyazaki's other stuff like
Laputa: Castle in the Sky  and  Nausiccaa of the Valley of the Wind.
They're a bit more adult than Totoro, with the same excellent animation and
storylines.  Really really good stuff.  See them.  Soon.  ^_^

To keep this thread on topic, this got me thinking:  both Laputa and
Nausicaa set up huge and detailed background worlds that would make great
settings for fanfics.  I'd take a stab at one myself, if I had any real free
time.  Anyone else who's seen 'em wanna try?
