7) "Five Star Stories Side Stories" I'm blanking on the author, but I
love the detail and craftsmanship of the story. FSS is my all time
favorite 'Mecha'/'Drama' manga, and I fell in love with the movie when I
first saw it as a fansub eight years ago. One day I'm gonna write a FSS
fanfic. Look in the RAAC archives.

I think the author's Shawn Hagen, and it makes my list, too: I haven't
seen the movie or read the manga, but this 'fic is very good.

8) "Attention on Deck" Again blanking on author but it was a well
written 'memoir' of a hero of the Robotech Wars. You can find it in the
RAAC archive.

Presley Kannady (sp wrong)??? I don't know, just guessing.

My ten, no order:

1. Kimagure Orange College 17 & 18 (Quincy S. Huoh, Stephen Tsai):
(the Kyousuke goes into the past 2 parter). Other KOC eps that stand
out in my mind are the "Girl's Night Out" and the Kimura date episode,
but by choosing 17 & 18 together, I get two for the price of one.

2. Undocumented Features' Hammer Time (Martin Rose aka PC Hammer): PC
Hammer's probably my favorite author, and I like all 6 (?) of the
stories from him. Plus, they cover my favorite parts of the UF
timeline (from the start of the Golden Age to Future Imperfect). I
hesitate to pick just one--part of the reason Hammer Time is so
interesting to me is PC Hammer's character growth.

3. Undocumented Features: Core (Benjamin D. Hutchins, Brian Bikowicz,
Rob Mandeville): It's long, it's epic, it's got an SDF, the Death Star
and the Enterprise all in a single battle.

4. UY: Just A Dream (can't remember): This is one of the 'fics that
stands alone--you don't have to know much about UY to enjoy it (nor, I
suspect, particularly enjoy UY), which is why I like it, since I
haven't seen UY.

5. Five Star Side Stories (Shawn Hagen?): This stands alone
remarkably well--I haven't seen any of FSS and it's still a good read
IMO.

6. Twisted Path (Darren Steffler): I wanna take it all... but in a
pinch, I'd take 2 and 3 together (again, 2 for the price of 1?). In a
real pinch, I'd probably take 3, because it's longest and it's BGC
(sort of...).

7. Ministry of Confusion (Stephen Gagne): It's good, it's long, it's
dark, it qualifies.

8. Thy Inward Love (Richard Lawson): I believe it speaks for itself.

9. Elseworlds #1: Lovers No More (John Walter Biles): I wanted to
choose something by John, and it's either an Elseworld or Putting your
heart in the right place.

10. Who Is Kim? (Ken Stone): Hm. This is a weird one, but I like it.

There's a ton of other good stuff, more if you can choose series as a
whole (in which case the combination of UF, Bubblegum Zone, Twisted
Path, KOC, DnR, Putting Your Heart In the Right Place/Furinkan Summer,
Thy Inward Love, Elseworlds, Just a Dream, and Five Star Side Stories
sounds good to me on sheer bang for the buck. :) )
