Ok, I've finally decided to write this down. It's a fic were Genma has
to pay for something he has done in the past. No putting the
punishment off on Ranma. This is my first fanfic. I usually write in my
own world. So please let me know if it's terrible and I'll keep the rest
to myself. I'm working on the next part (on paper) right now. If this
goes ok I have a Sailor Moon piece I'm working on too.
Ready, here goes.

REVENGE FROM THE PAST
OR
GENMA GETS HIS!

Opening scene:
Behind the Tendo Dojo lies a clear and small pool, surrounded by
small rocks and boulders. Sitting quietly on one is a young woman.
She is dressed like an American in jeans, a loose shirt and a leather
jacket. Her hair is black and pulled back in a tight pigtail. On closer
examination there is something familiar about her features.
As the sun’s first rays touch the Tendo’s home there can be heard
the first stirrings of the people within. After about ten minutes Kasumi
can be seen through the kitchen window. She is mixing various
ingredients for the family’s breakfast. As usual, a wonderfully rich
smell rises into the early morning air. Next to stir is Akane Tendo.
She leaves her room and heads to the bath for her morning clean up.
Sounds can be heard the other rooms as Nabiki, Mr. Tendo and the
Saotomes awaken. As usual Ranma and Genma start their morning
exercises. Today they manage not to damage anything and to stay
dry. A very untypical day for them. They do not yet know just how
untypical.
Kasumi calls for everyone to come to the table. With a bit of bustle
they get seated and the food is passed out and quickly consumed,
faster by some than others. Before a battle can break out over the
last of the biscuits Mr. Tendo speaks up. “Well children, what do you
have planned on this lovely spring day?”
“Business,” smiles Nabiki at Ranma, who smiles back weakly.
“I thought I’d go shopping with friends today.” Akane answers with a
happy smile. She is holding P-chan in her lap, feeding him bits of
veggies from the table.
“Whatcha ya goina do, buy a new collar for P-chan?’ Ranma teases
while pocking at the little black pig. He pulls back a finger with
P-chan attached. He starts to shake him off as Akane prepares to
hit him with her mallet. Their argument escalates and ends as usual
with Ranma ending up in the pool. As she gets out Ranma-chan
notices the girl who has been sitting patiently at the side of the pool.
“Hello there. Who are . . . ?”
Before she can finish the girl stands up and speaks in a quiet voice.
“I am looking for Genma Saotome. Can you tell me if he is here?”
She bows slightly. Her Japanese is good but contains a faint accent.
Ranma bows back and calls over his shoulder.
“Hey Pop! There’s a girl back here who wants to see you!”
Genma and Kasumi come out the door in the backyard. Genma
looks curious for a moment, then a bit sick when he sees the girl.
Kasumi walks over to Ranma with a pot of hot water. Ranma takes
it, thanking Kasumi and pours it over his head, returning to his normal
shape. The strange girl doesn’t react to the transformation. Her
eyes are glued to the older Saotome.
Genma swallows and with a strong feeling of foreboding, speaks.
“Hello, I am Genma Saotome. Can I help you?”
The girl takes a few steps forward. Out of nowhere she pulls a
carved staff and takes a guard stance. “I challenge you in the name
of Atsuko Fukushuu for the dishonor done to her seventeen years
ago.”
Genma’s eyes widen as he takes in what the girl’s just said.
Everyone in the household looks first at Genma, then at the young
woman. After a few seconds every head turns from the young
woman toward Ranma and back again. Nabiki is the first to speak.
“Ranma,” she pauses for a moment.
Ranma tears his eyes from the girl and turns to Nabiki. “What?”
“Does she remind you of anyone?”
“What,” he repeats, a bit confused. He turns back to the girl to take
a longer look, still puzzled. Nabiki snorts and splashes him. After she
changes everyone catches on. The girl is a dead ringer for Ranma
in her girl form. The only difference is, she has black hair and green
eyes. Ranma now turns to her father. “Pop, what’s going on here?”
Genma starts to answer. “Ranma, I...”
“Answer my challenge, you philanderer!” Without waiting the girl
moves in with lightning speed and lands a dozen or so blows with her
staff before Genma can move. She steps back and Genma looks
dazed. After a moment he slowly sinks to his knees and then falls
face down on the ground.
“Pop!” Ranma rushes over to check her father. Genma is bruised
and dazed but that is all. Ranma looks up at the young woman.
“Why?”
“Ask your father,” she says, making the word sound like an insult.
She looks down at Genma with contempt and starts to turn away.
Ranma jumps up, reaching out to stop her. Before she can the girl
spins about, blocking her hand with the staff.
“DO NOT TOUCH ME!” She begins to glow a deep gold. Ranma
steps back at the contained anger in those four words. Even Akane
couldn’t sound that deadly.
Akane steps toward the girl and asks the question on every mind in
the yard. “Who are you?”
Green eyes meet hers for a moment and the girl speaks her name.
“Wasurekata Saotome.” She then leaps to the top of the wall and
says one last thing before she leaps away. “Tell my father, I will
return tomorrow at dawn to finish this.” and then she is gone. Ranma
and Akane try to follow but the girl disappears before they get to the
top of the wall. They continue over and search for a few blocks.
After a few minutes they give up and head back to the Dojo. As they
walk back to talk.
“Ranma, what did she mean by ‘my father’? I thought you were an
only child.”
“I am,” answers Ranma. She is puzzled. She remembers no sister.
She kind of remembers the name the girl had challenged her father
with. She just couldn’t put her finger on it. There was something
from when her dad was young.
****************
Back at the Dojo Genma is still lying on the ground. Soun has
walked over and is trying to get his friend to answer some questions.
“Who is that child? I don’t remember any Atsuko. When did you
meet one of the Fukushuu clan?’
Genma lies staring up at the sky. After a few minutes he starts to
mumble. Soun bends down to listen. “Atsuko Fukushuu. It can’t be.
It was only once. Wasn’t it? She said nothing happened. What will
I tell Nodoka?” Still mumbling he gets up and wanders off toward the
house. Soun steps quickly to his side and guides his old friend into
the Dojo.
“Kasumi, I think we’ll need something strong than tea here. Bring out
the blue bottle please.” Soun calls over his shoulder to his eldest
daughter. For once he is acting like a man of his age. The state his
friend is in has surprised him. This girl seems to be no threat to his
family. Definitely no rival for Akane, like the other girls who have
showed up out of the past. After he settles Genma down on the
couch he thanks Kasumi for the small bottle and cup she hands him.
He pours a small amount into the cup and places it into Genma’s
hands. Genma stops mumbling for a moment and lifts the cup to his
lips. Taking a quick swallow he closes his eyes. The drink burns its
way past the confusion and clears his mind. He takes a deep
breath. “Thank you, Tendo. I needed that.”
“Genma, what was that all about?”
“I’m not sure Tendo. I have to think for a few minutes.” Genma
stands up and starts toward the Dojo. “Can you send Ranma to me
when he gets back?” He wanders off, less dazed but with nothing
forthcoming. Soun looks after his friend with confusion clear in his
face.

So what do you think. I'm not sure I like the tense I wrote it in.
Should I change that. I usually write in past tense. I also think it's a
bit stiff. Any help or ideas. Send CC to me at lprior@geocites.com.
