I believe the actual reason is that there is no precise translation of
"mukodono", which is how she refers to him in the original Japanese...

Actually, IIRC, it is an honorific way of saying `groom' probably used
at least partially in jest (since there is no way Ranma should be referred
to with -dono) and partially just 'cause it bugs him no end.
