I personally think as long as the reader enjoys the fanfic that is
written, no matter how IC or OCC some people think it is, then the
writer has accomplished what he set out to do and that is write a story
that people talk about and want to see more of.
I have to wonder....Is the idea of Ranma loving someone else without
the story being an alternate universe or without Akane dying so
unrealistic? Or Akane loving someone else under the same circumstances?
I think constantly sticking to the same formula of Ranma and Akane
getting and/or staying together would be boring and has been done many
times already. Not that those stories written about them aren't well
done, far from it, but I think some variety and change from the original
formula is refreshing once in a while and I for one, am looking forward
to any future stories that deal with Ranma and Akane seeking other
relationships with other people. There's a lot of possibilities out
there....many of which I'm considering writing about once my current
projects are completed.
I'll probably get flamed for this but I don't care. I think Ukyou and
Ranma are better suited to each other and I personally think Ryouga is a
better choice for Akane. I think the creation of Akari and Kotatsu at
the end of the manga series was a cheap attempt to find quick-fix
relationships for Ukyou and Ryouga and thus avoid future conflicts with
Ranma. If Ryouga and Ukyou had gotten together it would have made more
sense but since that didn't happen and Ranma and Akane are still
unmarried, I think Ryouga and Ukyou still have a chance to win the heart
of their true loves, it wouldn't be easy by any means, but I think it
could still happen, with the right circumstances.
I don't know....Maybe I'm wrong, but I just think it's better to keep
fresh ideas alive rather than dicouraging them because they're
different. What do you think?
Sincerely,
