Actually, you are quoting a person who responded to me.  If you reread
my original post carefully, I think you will find that we are in
near-total agreement, even to the terminology.  What is OOC for the
character as it originally stood is quite IC for the character after it
has changed (dare I say "grown"?) through experience.
