No, it's not. O.O  There's a big difference!

Loose =  The planking on this ship is loose..
Lose = I hate gambling, I always lose.
or
Lose = I hate that I always lose my keys... and my glasses.. and my
wallet... and my car... etcetera.

There's a big difference between loosing big, nasty, vicious slathering
dogs... and losing them. @.@  Just a silly example. ^^;
