PROLOGUE
It has been 3 months since Ranma Saotome and Company had
encountered and successfully defeated the evil oni that tried to possess
them. If you are unaware of this story, allow me to explain....
A priest had called Ranma, his father and Mr. Tendo down to
a shrine to help put a new ward on a box that contained an evil demon.
However, thanks to Happosai, it got loose and possessed Genma. They
learned that when the oni possessed someone, they had the person play
out their most evil desires in order to gain power. First Genma, then
Kunou, Ryouga, the priest himself, even sweet Kasumi!
Finally the oni tried to possess the one who was responsible
for setting him free, Happosai. But Happosaiís heart was so evil, the
oni couldnít withstand it. So with Ryougaís help, Ranma trapped the oni
back in the box and resealed it. Then he sent it floating along the
river to wash out into the ocean, not realizing the ward could be washed
off in the water along the way. Later they all watched the t.v. as news
reports of two strange monsters terrorizing America were broadcast. It
was the oni and Happosai who joined forces to wreck havoc.
Eventually they disappeared from America. Then a little while
later, Happosai came back to the Tendo Doujou, normal and perverted as
ever, and tried to glomp onto Ranma-Chan. No one bothered to ask him
where the oni had gone since they didnít wish to relive the memories of
an evil Kasumi ever again.
It was fortunate that Ranma Saotome managed to avoid being
possessed. With his skills and no morals, he would have truly been
a fearsome force to be reckoned with, much like Ryouga was when he
was possessed. Fortunately, Ranma can rest easy now that the oni is
no longer around....
....or so he thought....

OCTOBER 31
NEARBY THE TENDO DOUJOU
4:30 P.M.
The sun had risen to itís maximum height and was beginning itís descent
by the time Ranma was almost home. It had been a VERY bad day. Much
worse than usual. First he had been forced to stand in the hall for
being late to his first class. He had been too busy beating the crap
out of Kunou and the rest of the perverted boys trying to get a crack at
his female side after Akane had splashed her bucket of water over his
head when he made a cruel, but truthful, remark about her cooking. Then
he was called to the office by the principal and endured a lecture about
beating up the boys in the locker room. The principal tried to punish
Ranma by giving him a bowl cut, leading to a prolonged chase that Ranma
barely managed to escape.
That made Ranma late to his second class where Ms. Hinako tried to
suck up his battle aura while an enraged Mousse tried to kill him for
*daring* to trifle with *his* Shampooís affections the previous day,
leaving Hinakoís classroom looking like a tropical storm hit it.
By lunchtime Ranma was a nervous wreck. Then Akane shows up and
tries to get him to eat her lunch.....again. Naturally he
refused........again and naturally Akane bashed him into
orbit.....again. He landed in the girlís side of the locker room as a
guy and got the crap beaten out of him.......AGAIN!!!!
By this time Ranma was rapidly losing his sense of humor but that
still didnít stop Ryouga from crashing through the wall to his third
class and challenging him to yet another duel. Ranma barely managed to
escape with his life after Ryouga took a wrong turn and got lost. Ranma
managed to walk back into class only to find it had ended and he had
missed the *very* important test he was supposed to take today.
Somehow managing not to lose control, Ranma showed up on time for
gym class. The teacher decided to practicing swimming outside since it
was unaturally warm today, forcing a slightly crazed Ranma to borrow a
swimsuit from one of the girlís classes in order to cover up her assets
when the cold water forced her to change into a girl. Things appeared
to be calm and quiet after that until Kodachi and Sasuke showed up,
thanks to a rumor spread by Nabiki that Ranma male and female were going
steady, and tried to drown her while Kunou tried to save her from his
sisterís wrath. Either way a no win situation.
Ranma-Chan managed to fight all three of them off but knocked herself
out on the side of the pool in doing so. Luckily she was revived
through C.P.R, UNLUCKILY the C.P.R was performed by none other than
ìGolden Pair Skaterî Mikado who *just happened* to be nearby to compete
in a martial arts roller-skating match. Then his partner Azuza came and
demanded to know the location of her little Charlotte, bouncing various
objects off Ranmaís head to make her talk. Ranma-Chan ALMOST snapped
then, she grabbed Mikado and used him as a shield against Kodachi and
Sasuke and managed to escape from the gymnasium.
By now, Ranma-Chan was convinced the world was out to get her. She
ran away at top speed from Furinkan High, determined not to go back
there today for anything. Then she remembered she was only wearing a
bathing suit and now everyone was staring and laughing
at her. Ranma-Chan quickly turned to leave and ran smack into a man
carrying a cup of scalding hot coffee purchased from a cafe. The coffee
spilled all over Ranma-Chan, burning her skin badly and turning her back
into a guy. Now Ranma-Male was caught in the middle of town wearing a
girlís bathing suit. Ranma quickly ran away from the people who now
stared with disgust and horror and prayed that he would make it home
before anyone else saw him.........
Now, as he was nearing the Tendo Doujou, it seemed the day was
finally at an end.....until he heard a familiar voice from behind him
exclaim......
ìR....Ranma?!? Is that you?!?î
Ranma froze. Every single fiber of his being was paralyzed with fear
as he turned to face........his mother.
ìY....Y.....You must have me confused with someone else. My name is
Tsubasa!î Ranma managed to squeak out.
Nokoda calmed down. ìOh. Iíve heard about you from Akane. Youíre
that transvestite, right?î
Ranma forces himself not to scream as he nods weakly.
ìIím sorry. You just looked like my son. I guess there are other
people in the world with pigtails. Good thing. If you were my son....î
Nokoda unsheathed her kitana and slashed at the air in a head chopping
motion.
ìAfter all, It certainly isnít MANLY to wear a girlís swimsuit!î she
finished with a gleam in her eye.
ìTh....Th....Thank you.î Ranma stuttered with great fear.
ìNo offense intended of course.î Nokoda quickly added as she walked
towards the doujou. Ranma fell to his knees and begged the heavens for
someone to come by and kill him. He wanted Ryouga to come by and snap
his neck for him, he wanted Cologne to bash his brains in with her
staff, anything to end this horrible, miserable day from getting any
worse! Then Happosai showed up and splashes him with cold water before
latching himself onto her breasts.
ìHey cutey!î Happosai pulls out a pair of panties. ìCould
you model these for me?î
ìGET OFF ME!!!!!î Ranma roared.
Ranma send Happosai on a one way ticket to the far side of Pluto, his
entire body shaking with rage. Then he saw the flash of a camera out of
the corner of his eye and spun around to face a smirking Nabiki Tendo.
ìNow hereís a photo I can put to good use. I can sell it to all the
womenís adult magazines, not to mention certain male classmates....î
ìARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!î
Ranma finally lost it. His common sense and sense of honor took a
hike, his morality fail-safe failed to safe him as he eagerly grabbed
Nabiki camera from her hands and smashed it against the ground.
ìHey! That cost me a lot! Youíre going to pay me for that!î
Nabiki said angrily.
Ranma grabbed Nabiki by the shoulders and looked into her
eyes. Nabiki paled as she realized blackmailing Ranma now may have
been a bad idea.
ìNabiki....hehehe....If you werenít a girl....hehehehe.....î
ìUhh.....Ranma.....are you okay?î Nabiki nervously inquired.
ìOkay? hehehehe.....Iím great! Iím terrific! Iím so happy I
could throw up!î Ranma said with a strange twitch in his eye.
ìThen can you let go of me? This shirtís expensive you know.î
Ranma seemed to laugh harder at that and released Nabikiís
shoulders, falling on the ground with his mirth.
ìUh....I think you need to be alone right now....î Nabiki backed away
from the crazed Ranma and quickly departed. Ranma continued to laugh
until he was exhausted. Then he slowly got up and walked over to his
room where he leapt through the open window. Ranma quickly took
off the bathing suit and replaced it with his usual outfit. Then he
leapt back out the window and starting running the minute he hit the
ground. He ran at top speed, trying to get away from his problems and
worries, at least for a little while. As he turned the corner, he ran
face first into someone and that someone flew back and collapsed against
the walkway. Ranma was about to tell the guy off for getting in his way
when he saw it was a girl.
ìOh man!î Ranma said as he quickly knelt beside her and
checked for injuries. ìIím sorry! I didnít mean to knock you down like
that! Are you okay?î
The girl didnít respond. Ranma checked for a pulse and found
one, steady and sure. Ranma quickly gathered the girl in his arms and
rushed off towards Dr. Tofuís clinic in search of aid.
As he hurried, he couldnít help but notice how cute this girl
was. She had long thick black hair, trailing down her back and tied
with a pink bow. She was wearing lime green clothes and purple
shorts, and she seemed to be in excellent physical condition, judging
by the muscles Ranma could feel underneath her skin, yet they did
nothing to diminish her beauty. In that sense she was a lot like
Shampoo.
ìI wonder who she is?î Ranma thought to himself as he ran
up the walkway to the clinicís front door and began knocking.
ìYo! Dr. Tofu! I need some help out here!î
A few moments later, Dr. Tofu opened the door. ìOh. Hello
Ranma. Whoís your friend?î
ìI kinda....ran into her by mistake. Sheís seems to be okay but
she wonít wake up!î
ìI see. Bring her inside and Iíll take a look at her.î
Dr. Tofu walked back inside the clinic followed by Ranma
still carrying the girl in his arms.
ìLay her down here.î Dr. Tofu said.
Ranma gently lowered the girl onto the bed and stepped back
as Dr. Tofu began to examine her. ìSheís pretty. Do you know her?î
the doctor asked.
ìNo. Never seen her before in my life.î Ranma replied.
After several moments the doctor turned to face Ranma. ìShe
appears to be unconscious but sheíll be fine. That must have been some
knock you gave her.î
ìH....Hey! She ran into me....î Ranma tried to defend himself.
ìReally? How fast was she walking?î
ìShe....î Ranma replayed the event in his mind and realized he
was the one who was running at top speed. ìUm....maybe I was going
a little too fast.î
ìYou really should be more careful. Not everyone has your
endurance and durability.î Dr. Tofu turned back to face the girl.
ìAlthough she is in good shape for her age. Perhaps youíd like to stay
and apologize to her when she wakes up?î
ìUmm....î Ranma did want to apologize to her for knocking her
down like that but the Tendo Doujou was holding a Halloween party
tonight and he had to help them set up. ìIíd like to doc, but Iíve
really....
Just then the girl began to stir. Ranma went to her bedside and
asked. ìHey. A....Are you okay?î
ìW....Where am I?î the girl nervously asked.
ìYouíre in Dr. Tofuís Clinic. I....um....accidentally ran into you and
when you didnít wake up, I brought you here. Iím really sorry.î
Ranma said as he bowed to her in apology.
ìOh....well thatís okay. You didnít mean it. I forgive you.î
The girl said as she sat up.
ìMaybe you should rest a bit first.î said the doctor. ìYou
have quite a knock there.î
ìIíll be okay.î the girl said as she stood up. Ranma admired
her spirit at not being kept down. Then the girl turned to face Ranma
and inquired.
ìWhatís your name?î
ìMe? Ranma Saotome.î
ìSaotome? Iíve heard of you! Arenít you that martial artist
who never gets beaten?î the girl said excitedly
ìYeah.....Thatís me.î Ranma couldnít help but swell up a
little with pride at the remark.
ìAnd you change into a woman with cold water, right?î the
girl continued.
Ranmaís pride was instantly deflated. ìWell.....yeah.î
ìIíve always wondered what that feels like for a guy, I mean,
becoming a girl. I donít know if I could handle it if I turned into a
guy.
ìYou get used to it.î Ranma sighed. ìSo whatís your name?î
ìMai....Mai Sakamoto.î
ìNice to meet you Mai.î Ranma said with a smile.
ìThank you.î Mai replied with a smile of her own. ìIf you
donít mind me asking, why were you in such a hurry?î
ìUmm.....Itís a long story.î Ranma replied nervously.
ìTell me. Iíd like to know.î Mai asked him sweetly.
ìPlease?î
ìWell....î Ranma looked at the clock and saw he was overdue.
ìSorry, I canít. I have to go home and set up the Doujou for our
Halloween party. Maybe weíll run into each other again.....î
Ranma grimaced as he realized what he just said. ìI....I mean if I
should catch you again....NO!....I mean.....î
Mai giggled at his mistake. ìI know what you mean.î
ìWhew! Thanks.î Ranma breathed a sigh of relief then turned
back to face her. ìSay, do you want to come to the party?î
ìOh, I donít want to impose....î Mai quickly said.
ìDonít worry about it. Itís the least I can do for knocking you
down like that. What do you say?î
ìWell....Sure. Why not?î Mai replied with a smile on her face.
ìGreat! The partyís at 7:00 p.m. tonight at the Tendo Doujou.
Do you know where that is?î Ranma asked.
ìI....I think I can find it.î Mai said.
ìOkay then. See you there, Mai!î Ranma said as he ran out
the door, leaving Dr. Tofu and Mai behind. Mai turned to Dr. Tofu and
exclaimed ìDo you think he likes me?î
ìHm?î The doctor looked up from his desk, not having heard
a word Ranma and Mai were saying.
ìNever mind.î Mai turned away from him and stared at the door
where Ranma just left. ìHeís really cute....î Mai thought to herself
as her eyes flashed with an idea....

Meanwhile, Ranma-Chan made her way home, making sure to
get splashed by the old lady and thus hide her true identity from her
mother, and walked in the front door.
ìIím home!î Ranma-Chan announced loudly.
ìRan...ko! Where have you been?! We need your help if
weíre going to finish decorating the doujou in time for the party
tonight!î Akane said as she threatened Ranma-Chan with a spool of
orange and black ribbon.
ìSorry about that. I was....preoccupied with something.î
ìYou call that an excuse?!î
ìI said Iím sorry! What else do you want from me!?î
ìNothing you jerk!î Akane exclaimed as she shoved past him
and walked into the gym.
ìSheesh. Talk about uncute.î Ranma-Chan muttered under
his breath as he began to sort through one of the boxes filled with
decorations when he heard Kasumi call out to him.
ìRanko, do you know where the whipped cream is? Iíll need it
to top off the pumpkin pies and itís not in the fridge where it should
be.î
ìI have no idea where it is.î Ranko replied.
ìThen could you run to the store and get some?î Nokoda said
as she emerged from the kitchen with some coins. ìAnd get some more
soy sauce while youíre at it.
ìOkay.î Ranko replied as her mother dropped the yen into her
hands and turned around to walk out the door.

Authorís notes: Well I know now I should have started this story
earlier because now it most likely wonít be finished until after
Halloween. I recently rewatched the OVA episode where Kasumi was
possessed by the oni devil and was a little underwhelmed. I would think
Kasumi would have darker impulses than simply cooking bad food and
slicing up a blanket into cute dolls. She certainly does in OUR fanfics
:)
Plus there was several people the oni never got a chance to possess in
the original video, Ranma himself being one of them. So I decided to
continue this idea and see where it lead. Suffice it to say, expect a
LOT of chaos in the near future.
