I think you're missing my point here. I'm not doubting that Akane
wouldn't need or want support from Ranma at anytime, I'm saying that
he's portraying her as something a lot less than what she is. I doubt
that Akane would act the way she does in this fic, and I also doubt that
she'd let "the dark" frighten her. I don't think Akane would want
Ranma's protection anyway. If anything, she'd probably say something
about Ranma groping her in the dark or something along those lines
(although we all know he wouldn't).
The fact remains, however, that Akane is OOC in this fic. That doesn't
mean I don't like it, I just don't agree with Mr Wang's portrayal of
Akane in this fic.
