I'll agree that Ranma is more than slightly OOC in this 'fic, but I
think you do not have an accurate idea of the Japanese view of suicide. To
the traditional Japanese mindset, suicide is often viewed as the untimate
apology. I'm not going to make any comments as to the wisdom of this
viewpoint, but it is a reality.
