I loved the first two parts. Both were beautifully animated and a treat.
The third part was sort of a let down though :/ crappy (in comparison)
animation and storyline... AND I heard that it got canned in Japan. I
dunno! I'm hoping that there ARE more of them... is there a manga on which
this story is based?? I would like some info too ^_^

Actually, the anime is based on a series of novels written by... er, Tanaka
something-or-other (sorry, but his name eludes me for the moment). I'm told
that the first part of the series (the novel that is) is about when Pars is
taken over by Lusitania, as is depicted in the anime series. It ends when
Arslaan manages to win back Pars and kick the Lusitanians out. Currently,
the novels are in part 2 which takes place three years after Arslaan's
victory. Arslaan is 17 years old, and he's still trying to be the best king
he can be.
As for the anime, I think there might be a couple more chapters coming out
(at least, I really hope so). I managed to get in touch with someone who's
read all the novels, and he sent me the spoilers ^_^ so at least I have the
comfort of knowing what happened towards the end.

As to fics... dunno...

I've only found one 'fic based on the Arslaan anime. I think it's in the
fanfic archives. It's titled "Two Friends" and tells about Daryoon's and
Narsus' first meeting. It's currently unfinished, unfortunately, and so far
there's no sign of the rest of it.

Oh, BTW, as this is my first post to the ML... Greetings from Malaysia,
everybody!
