Akane doesn't care about Ranma's happiess - she pounds him, insults hime,
and worst, she does not TRUST him, DESPITE the fact that he has been loyal
in SPITE of all of Shampoo's and Ukyou's attempts to subvert him... Such a
reward for devotion!  Phooey!

I'd say that Akane got off lucky that Ukyo was a nice person in Namida...

Ukyou too wants Ranma for herself - has wanted him for ten years!  In the
manga, she too is more concerned with winning than with Ranma's happiness.

a decade is kinda a long time, y'know.
