I have no problem with Jang Choe running a best anime fanfic contest. 
In fact I've decided to run six major polls to determine the best of the
best this year.  These polls will be based on the number of people who
liked a fanfic and want it to be nominated.  I only have three

I don't agree with all this "best of" type stuff and polls I've seen
lately.  Whether a story flops or a story works is inherently subjective
to the reader, so trying to objectify it with polls is stupid.  In
addition, I like how the list is now, where people are (for the most part)
writing stories because creating is fun and they want to get more
creative.  I hope this list doesn't degenerate into a bunch of contests
and competitions, people writing unoriginal, crowd-pleasing crap with the
idea of "winning" in mind.
