series the obviously love each other, but in this...well, you have to
wonder...

It is VERY interesting.  Here Ranko and Akane obviously love each other,
but have the additional defense of "Well, we're really both girls aren't
we?".

So as their defenses crumble, they're left even more vulnerable to each
other than Ranma/Akane are.  The big question here is: which way will
they do it? (I think the author is planning to flip a coin when that
point comes.)
