I know there is a temporary hold on the 'fics while things get organized, but I
want to be able to join in, and I left off in a bad situation. I also want to be
able to join in the rest of what's happening. As for those of you who know my
rather powerful .sigs, well, one of them makes a cameo in this, but that's it.
Also, when I talk about several bad things happening during the week I was
off the 'net that my 'venging characters take credit for, well they really
happened.
Ranma 1/2: Ronin
The Revenge Fic pt.2
Wayne didn't like how things were going for him so far. After a week off the
FFML, he returned to find a major battle going on between characters and their
authors as the characters wanted to get revenge for the various things the authors
put them through. Just as he felt relief that he hadn't been targeted, probably
because he hadn't written his story yet, three of the main characters from it,
Ranma, Akane, and Shampoo, arrived to take their revenge on him. He did manage
to get them to tell him that they had gotten there by borrowing an
inter-dimensional teleporter from a trouble-maker .sig of his know as The Dark
Shadowy Figure or DSF. They then realized his stall for what it was and gave
him a list of his crimes. Just before Akane started telling him why she wanted
revenge, he tried to run for his life, but stopped short when a backpack flew
within inches of his head and impacted against the door he was sprinting for.
Realizing that he couldn't possibly escape at the moment, he turned back as
Akane told him how he had screwed her over, some of her pent up anger starting
to show through in the process. This was bad. In his story, Akane learned
how to focus her Ki, and one move that she had was an anger version of the
Shi Shi Hokudan. Wayne stood there waiting for his death by being Ki blasted
through the wall with calm resignation, but he didn't realize that things were
going to get worse.
"Very well," Wayne replied to Akane, his voice heavy with resignation, "get it
over with. I can't stop you from killing me, and I haven't a chance to fight
back, but I won't cower. Though I thought that you were too honorable to kill
somebody who couldn't defend themselves."
His hopes that the comment about honor might save him were dashed to bits as
the three people in front of him only reacted to that by smiling. A smile
that says victory.
"Calm down, Akane." said Ranma. "he's right about the honor comment, but
don't forget that we had decided that killing him would be too quick anyway."
"Too quick?" The scared author asked with a gulp.
"Yes," Akane responded with smug satisfaction, "We're going to do to you what
you did to us. As a matter of fact, we've been doing it already. You didn't
have any previous serious enemies to bring back, so we made your last week,
before you were warned a living hell. We caused that broken rented tape, the
car accident, the trouble you had working on those physics papers that were
the reason you left the 'net, and we arraigned to have that newsletter you
did for your dorm taken away."
"YOU DID THAT?" a suddenly enraged Wayne bellowed. "I thought I was just
having a week from hell!" He started advancing towards the martial artists,
too mad to care about the consequences because of the sudden emotional burst
from within him. He now knew what his characters felt, a lust for revenge!
However, they weren't done with him yet, not by a long shot.
"Now its time for you to pay for the next thing you did to us. Akane, would
you do the honors?" With that, Ranma tossed Akane a thermos which she deftly
caught, unscrewed its lid and threw the contents all over the object of her
hatred.
As the clear liquid flew towards Wayne, he realized just what it must be, the
standard revenge that he had read off the ML. He crossed his arms in front
of him, though he knew it wouldn't help. "Oh, fraaaaacccckkkk!" In the middle
of the second word, his voice suddenly rose several octaves. He also noticed
that he was suddenly a couple of inches taller, thinner in the stomach, but
heavier in the chest. He also felt other changes that he didn't want to face
just yet.
As he was recovering from the shock, Shampoo jumped into the conversation,
"Shampoo turn! Shampoo make Wayne forget he boy and make think he girl."
Suddenly regaining control of her voice and reasoning skills at the new
threat, she quickly spoke up. "Akane, that was stupid of you! You should have
used that to sure yourself!" He was surprised as the masks of hatred displayed
on the faces of his visitors suddenly became infused with rage.
Ranma looked at him with contempt. "We were going to wait until later for this,
but since you want it now..." He reached into his backpack and pulled out a
small fragment of a stone. "This is the last working piece of the Jusenkyo
Stone. When you had it destroyed, all of us who had curses that were there
became immune to any Jusenkyo Water, from *ANY* dimension. We can't be cured
now, and in a moment neither can you."
{The Jusenkyo Stone,} Wayne remembered. {A Ki amplification stone of immense
power that gave Jusenkyo water the ability to create the curse. It was
destroyed by Akane to save Ranma and a number of other warriors. It
rejuvenated their drain Ki abilities and prevented...} "Wait a sec! I never
added tha..."
Before Wayne could finish the truthful denial, Ranma raised the stone and
unleashed its power. Unfortunately for him, he forgot that it was a Ki
amplification stone, and that the emotions of the four people had been on
a roller coaster ride of extremes for the past few minutes. What he expected
to be a low power energy transfer that would make it impossible for his author
to be cured became a powerful Ki-blast that blew his now female foe through
the door and out into the hallway!
Wayne landed against the far wall, in the middle of a group of guys who had
congregated outside her door when they heard her female scream released when
she transformed. None of the guys there had any idea what was happening, but
seeing a good-looking girl blown through a doorway to a room in an all male dorm
made them want to know what was going on! They flooded into the room and
started bombarding the three anime characters, who were shocked by the
unexpected blast, with questions. Meanwhile, while this distraction took place,
Wayne found out that her new body was tougher then it looked as she quickly
recovered from the blow and got up. Seeing that she had a chance to escape, she
bolted down the hall towards one of the staircases down, and in the process
learned that running for your life is a good way to learn how to handle the
coordination of a new body!
As she neared the doorway that promised freedom, she heard a commotion and
several groans of pain by her room. She dived through the doorway as she
heard Akane shout, "Snarling Tiger Strike!" and barely avoided the massive Ki
blast that totaled a good portion of the corridor. However, in her desperation
and new body, she misjudged the jump and ended up flying down the staircase in
a way other then what she wanted! After rolling down about half the flight of
stairs she landed rather painfully against the wall of the landing. The pain
induced daze she felt and the urgency of running for her life prevented her from
giving more then a quick word of thanks to any deity that might be listening
that she didn't get massive injuries from that little stunt. She rolled back
up into a standing position and bolted down the stairs. She passed both the
second and first floors and was about to burst through the door leading out,
when something a flight down caught her eye. She scrambled down that staircase
as well and hurried through the, for once, open door to the maintenance/kitchen
tunnels. She slammed the door behind her, knowing that it would lock and
that it was heavy enough to slow down even her pursuers.
She stopped for a moment and took stock of her situation. {Great, I've got
a bunch of powerful anime characters after me that are out for blood over a
story that I wrote them into. I've had my body changed, been ki-blasted
through a door, and fallen down a staircase after just missing another Ki-blast.
On the plus side, I've escaped for the moment and have access to the maintenance
tunnels, which will allow me to move between the units of my dorm without
going outside, and keep me from being seen. For now, I've lost
them. I need help, though. There are only two people I know here that will
listen to me long enough for me to convince them this is happening. Damn. I
hate the idea of involving friends in something like this, but I'm dead if I
can't get some help. I hope they're home.}
Several minutes later, she knocked on the door of her friends room.
"Come in!" One of them called.
She opened the door and glanced around a room that was at least twice the size
of her own, and fit two of each piece of furniture without too much crowding.
Though the stereo system with both a television and a computer hooked up into
it showed that these two took their main forms of entertainment seriously.
There was a slightly over six foot tall guy with orange hair hunched over the
computer playing Command & Conquer and another guy sitting behind a desk
apparently working on homework while talking on the phone. Both of them
looked rather surprised as a six foot tall woman with black hair and brown
eyes who looked both familiar and completely new to them walked in.
"Good," said Wayne, "Your both here, and without anybody else. I really
need your help."
At this, the two roommates look at each other with looks of confusion on their
faces. As each notices that the other isn't going to claim knowledge of
the person that had just walked into their room, they both decide that she's
crazy. However, both being normal, full blooded males studying engineering,
and faced with a good looking woman who seems to need help in their room, they
decide to give her a few more minutes before they throw her out.
"Okaaaayyyy." responded the person behind the desk, "How can we help you, miss?"
{miss?} Wayne thought. He then realized that in running for his life and the
desperation to find help, he'd forgotten that his friends wouldn't know his
female form. "Hold on a second, I need to do something first." She garbed
an empty plastic cup and dashed out the door to a nearby water fountain, filled
it up and placed it in her friends microwave. She spends the next 30 seconds
while waiting for the water to heat up mumbling "come on, come on, come on..."
impatiently. The two confused people in the room had just decided that enough
was enough and that they were going to throw her out when the bell on the
microwave went off. "Finally," sighed Wayne as she pulled out the cup and dumped
the now rather warm water over her. S/he as s/he felt the changes start to take
place and he became male again.
His friends, however, went into a state of shock as the strange female who had
entered their room suddenly became a male who they knew well. "WAYNE?" They
both burst out. "What happened to you?" The one with the orange hair asked.
"Dane," Wayne replied looking straight at the orange hared guy, "your the one
who introduced me to both Ranma 1/2 and fanfiction. Do you really need ask
how a girl can become a guy with hot water?"
"You've been cursed?" asked the other guy. "But that's only in Ranma."
"Exactly, David. Oh, man." Wayne responded taking a half sigh, half deep breath
You'd better sit down while I fill you in."
Several minutes later, he was finished with the tale, and his friends faces were
covered with looks of sympathy and horror. Dane, who has written some 'fics
that only a few people have seen, began looking around him as if expecting
the Ranma cast to suddenly appear and visit him.
"So, what are you going to do now?" David inquired.
"I don't know. For now, I'll have to keep moving so they can't find me. One
things for sure, I can't stay here at the Quad, they're too likely to come
looking for me here."
"Where are you going to stay?" Dane wanted to know. "Also, your not going to
be able to go to the PAC meeting in a few days if you avoid the Quad."
"Oh, right Dane!" Wayne was getting frustrated again. "I've got real live
anime characters coming after me looking for blood! Why would I want to
spend the night with a bunch of ota..." He stopped short, his eyes lit up,
and for the first time there was a hint of a smile on his face as a plan
suddenly coalesced in his mind. "On second thought, PAC is perfect. I think
I know how to take care of that problem of mine. Here's what I have in mind."
He quickly outlined his plan to his two friends.
"Oh boy!" said Dane, lighting up with excitement. "This is going to be fun!"
"Here's what I need you two to do. Dane, we usually have about 50 or 60 people
at the meetings? Well, increase your recruiting habits and get at least a
hundred people there. Try not to let them know about my rogue characters, but
you can let them know that there will be something memorable there. David, I
need you to get a large supply of buckets and hot and cold water. As for me,
I'll make myself scarce until the afternoon before the meeting, and I'll need
one of you to get the keys to the room early so I can hide there without having
to risk running a blockade they might set up. Fortunately, Purdue is big, and
I know it a lot better then they could, so I'll be able to hide until then.
Though, I'll have to be the bait."
A few days later, outside of a building in the courtyard of Wayne's dorm (Cary
Quad, aka Cary or the Quad for short) Ranma, Akane, and Shampoo are meeting.
"So, none of you saw him?" asked Akane.
"Nope, though there seemed to be a lot of other people heading towards the attic
meeting place he designated, I wonder why. None of them saw me, though" Ranma
answered. The migration of people to the meeting place that was designated on
the written challenge they received from their author had surprised them
even more then the challenge itself. It had prevented them from getting there
early to set a trap, not to mention the fact that the story of the damage they
had done on arrival had gotten around, so they were trying to keep from being
seen and arrested.
"Shampoo agree. Why for so many go there. Is trap?"
"I don't know. They didn't look like they would be good at fighting, maybe
they just want to watch the fight?" Offered Ranma.
"Well, whatever he's up to, it's now time. Let's head up and get this over
with." Said Akane.
The three climbed up the stairs warily, watching for any sort of trap. They
reached the top of the staircase and cautiously opened the door. Inside was a
small room with closed doors on either side and a window in the back. Sitting
in a chair just further back in the room then the other doors was the object of
their hatred.
"So," Wayne opened as he stood up. "You three decided to actually show up.
Very well, I'll give you one chance to surrender. Otherwise, you'll regret it."
"Your bluffing." Akane was somewhat disturbed by the look of confidence on his
face. "Now you'll pay for what you've done to us!"
"Before you try to kill me, there is somebody I want you to meet." Wayne
quickly threw open the door on his right, taking shelter behind it as
he yelled out, "Akane Tendo, Ranma Saotome, and Shampoo, meet the Purdue
Animation Club!"
Cries of "It couldn't be!" and "What sort of joke is this?" came from the
room until the excited call of "It *IS* them!" rang out. At that point,
about a hundred rabid otaku swarmed from the darkened theater they were in
as Maison Ikoku played in the background! As the three Anime characters brought
to reality found out that the only thing that could drag an otaku from watching
anime on a 15 foot screen was the sudden appearance of some of the more popular
characters, they thought they were in Hell. When the club officers started
selling buckets of hot and cold water to the members, the three suddenly swarmed
and helpless animates knew they were.
The next day, the animates (who after several minutes managed to escape by
jumping onto some of the otaku's heads and jumping over the banister on the
landing leading to the theater to hit the next landing a floor down, and kept
running ^-^) were on a street corner on campus. They had no where to go now, and
were in pretty bad shape from their encounter with PAC.
"Did we lose them?" Asked Ranma.
"I think so."
"Shampoo think so to."
"I don't" said another voice, which suddenly appeared and startled the animates.
They turned towards the voice and saw Wayne leaning against a wall.
"YOU!" all three of them roared and got ready to attack!
Wayne just stayed their with a smirk. "The last time you tried that thinking
I was alone didn't work out too well, did it?" This brings the three would be
antagonists to an abrupt halt as they look around for otaku to suddenly jump
them. "It would be even worse now, because I have this." he holds up a black
device he has in his hand.
"A cellular phone?" Asked a puzzled Akane.
"Almost right. This is a cellular phone dialed to a friend who's listening on
the other end and knows where I am. He's also at the new membership drive
that we started as word got around that you visited PAC." The three cringe
violently as he mentions that, but he continues, "Whoops, forgot the change
there for a second. After you escaped, I told PAC about what your friends were
doing to the other fanfiction authors. They all immediately agreed to help,
incidentally "meeting" more anime characters in the process, and reformed
themselves into The Legion of PAC. We're currently up to 150 otaku with
me as their leader and my friends, Dane and David as my lieutenants. We also
have a small budget, thanks again to you. We sold the buckets of water they
used on you for $.50 each, and made almost $1000 dollars off it." This
elected another violent shiver out of the three unfortunate dimensional travelers
as they remember being transformed more times in those few minutes then they
had been throughout their entire past lives.
"What do you want with us?" queried a fearful Ranma.
"First, I want you to cut the revenge crap. We've done enough to each other
for now. Second, you said DSF gave you a teleporter. I want it."
"But, how are we supposed to get home?" Asked Akane as Ranma tossed Wayne the
device.
"I'll take care of that." Answered a new person who had a voice very similar
to Wayne's. As everybody turned towards the newcomer, they saw a person who
could have passed for the twin of Wayne's male form, except for the dark blue
flightsuit with pockets bulging full of various devices, wrap-around sunglasses
with sensors and a HUD display attached, and a REALLY *BIG* gun strapped to his
back.
Wayne looks confused and nervous for a second, but then brightens up as he
realizes who this must be. "They said DSF was around, so you have to be
my avatar .sig, Stargazer, right?"
"Exactly"
"Oh, no." groaned Ranma. "Two of them." In response to which, Wayne raised
the phone towards his mouth and Stargazer started to unlimber his machine-gun-
plasma-cannon. However, Stargazer stopped in the middle of that and a device
strapped to his arm that looked exactly like the teleporter just tossed to
Wayne lit up. The three Anime characters were momentarily encased in a blue
light and then disappeared.
"Don't worry, I only returned them to their home dimension. I'm sorry I
couldn't come earlier, but I started sealing off the Universes you created with
your imagination as soon as this broke out. There were a lot of them, and DSF
sneaked them by me before I could seal off theirs. I've since been keeping
DSF busy so that he doesn't cause trouble for both sides in this conflict."
"I was wondering why he hadn't shown up. All of this chaos should have
attracted him like a hacker to a challenging system. How did you manage that?"
"You really don't want to know. I can't stay long or give you much help because
I have to keep him busy, or things can get really out of hand." Stargazer
takes out a device and scans Wayne with it. He then takes Wayne's captured
teleporter and opens a panel in the back to begin making adjustments. "As I
thought. Your brainwave signatures are similar to both DSF's and mine. I
don't have the time or equipment to do a full job right now, but I can do a
rough fit on this one to allow you to have mental control over it. You won't
have the control to do combat 'porting or past temporal 'porting, but you
can use it as a standard interdimensional 'porter, and if your extremely
careful, some future 'ports. At least those aren't quite as dangerous as
past 'ports, but I don't advise doing it too often. Also, I talked to some
scientist friends of mine about what was happening, and I have some
information for you." His brows momentarily crease in thought. "Or,
perhaps I should say, non-information for you."
"What do you mean?" A rather confused Wayne asked.
"There is definitely a mastermind behind this, but it isn't your standard
type of enemy. As far as we can tell, it was formed by a member of the FFML,
but never defined in any way by that person. This means that it can be
as powerful as it needs to be at any moment."
"Is that how the use of the Jusenkyo Stone made the people it effected immune
to the effects of Jusenkyo water? I know *I* sure as heck never considered
that."
"I'm afraid so. People are beginning to fear it, and the rumors of its powers
are starting to grow. This allows its powers to actually grow. Since there
is no limit on them other then what people want, it makes him more powerful.
he is already more powerful then any author can has been able to mildly effect
some worlds. Yours is one of a few he's started twisting to his own purposes."
"Wait, doesn't that mean that we can stop it by deciding on limits of its power?"
"I'm afraid it won't be that easy. The only way to do that is to have its
original author decide on limits and have everybody else believe in those
limits. As long as even one person believes it's more powerful then those
limits, it will be."
"Damn, than there isn't much we can do right now. People are getting hyped
up over it, which is making it more powerful. It will take a lot to stop that."
"Yes, but since the authors are getting ready to fight back, you've already
taken the first step, shaking your fear of it. I have to leave now, before
DSF gets away. I can't help you much because of that, but if you or any other
author needs something, let me know and I'll do my best to supply it. Good
Luck. Here's a disk with basic instructions of how to use the 'porter. When
I get some more time, I'll try to give you more intense instructions, but that's
all you need to know for now. Fare well, for all of our sakes." Stargazer
hands Wayne the disk and 'ports off. And so starts the adventures of Wayne
and The Legion of PAC.
Well, its a relief to get that done and out of the way, finally. I hope you
enjoyed all of this, though if anything Stargazer said towards the end contradicts
anything people have planned concerning (?), just ignore it as a theory
about to be proved wrong ^_^ Also, Dane, David I'm sorry if I didn't get your
personalities right. I tried, but I'm not quite sure if I did it right.
Finally, if any authors still need rescuing (I lost track a while back @_@ ),
just send me your dimensional coordinates and situation, and my Legion of PAC
will try to help you. By the way, PAC is a real organization that has weekly
meetings in my dorm's theater to watch anime. By the way 2, I already have
plans for at least two more stories featuring The Legion, but don't expect them
for a little while as I am a slow writer and don't have the necessary time to
devote to this.
