A good idea, Wyrm. A very good idea. I kinda like it,
Thank you. ^_^
though it reminds
me perhaps too much of TGACFH!'s "Man in the Black Trenchcoat".
It shouldn't. (?) doesn't have a real identity. He's a truely undefined
character in the story. The "Man in the Black Trenchcoat" may already be
defined by the writer(s) of TGACFH! as the man in the black trenchcoat. (?)
is not defined in any way, that's what gives him his power.
First of all, I think we need to decide, as a group, who we want as an
enemy, even if it be as undefined as tan(pi/2).
If you mean what his name is, what's wrong with (?)? If you mean defining
who and what he is (such as assigning him a name from an anime char), then
we can't do that. It defines him. (?) IS AS UNDEFINED AS ZERO DEVIDED BY
ZERO! We don't have enough information to define (?) yet. You CAN divide
zero by zero (we do it all the time in calculus), but only if you have
enough information about how you're doing it.
>From there, we need to
figure out how this fits in the current plans.
Easy. To remain powerful, he has to remain undefined. That requires that
all current fanfics remain the way they are: unwritten and undefinied, so
he's going to try and stop us writing fanfics at every turn, and the surest
way to do that is take over the FFML.
Personally, I recommend
that the fight with the enemy occur after the home plane is free of
threats i.e. vindictive anime characters. In other words, the fight
would take on the following form, based on current setup:
October 31, 1996: The revenge begins. Scott is visited first, then each
of us, one by one, fall to the onslaught of characters.
Right!
Early November 1996 - November 3, 1998: Transition. Life goes on.
Things are quiet on the ML. The enemy is safe, free to do as it pleases,
<SNIP>
waiting for the right time to strike. A few well-trained souls, like Wyrm,
take the fight to the anime universes, but these are largely isolated
events, designed to destroy necessary "trouble spots".
Like rescuing unfortunate fanfic writers. ^_^
November 3, 1998: The counterstrike. The fanfic warriors take the fight
to the anime universes, eliminating any future threat to their
existence...or so they think. At this point, the enemy, seeing the
limiting factor of the anime characters destroyed and fearing the permanent
curtailment of its power, makes plans to go after the writers face-to-face.
IE, when we take back the FFML, we'll be free to write fanfics again,
putting (?)'s undefined status in real jeopardy.
November 4, 1998 - ?: The battle between the fanfic writers and the enemy
ignites, eventually requiring all of the warriors to stop it.
Tell me what you think of it.
Cool.
