   Here's a little something different in the line of revenge fics. Hope
you all like it.

   A SKJAM! Revenge Fic.

   "Reflections of a Mirror, part 1."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   "Dreamers may die, but the dream is eternal..."
   I'd been waiting for them for some time, now.. after all, it wasn't as if
I hadn't expected them. I'd seen it all on the list. All the victims. Biles,
Zen, Kevin, Beaubien, all the others... no. It wasn't surprising.
   I coughed, and grinned. They thought they had the advantage of surprise.
But the surprise would be on them.
   "Hold it right there! Don't try to escape you.. vile.. bastard..?"
Priss's voice trailed off as she smashed through the door in her hardsuit. I
could her the confusion in her voice. I sat there, unarmed, smiling at her.
The others followed her in, looking around.
   "Good day. No one from Undocumented Features, I see. That's good. They're
my friends. I _DO_ notice that I've gotten a large part of the Ranma 1/2
cast, as well as some of the Bubblegum Crisis team. "
   "Yeah," spat Ranma. "And you're gonna get it, buddy." He sloshed a
bucket. "It's payback time."
   "Jusenkyo water? How cliche' of you, lad. I'd expected better from you.
Or at least something slightly more original. Obviously you failed to study
your target. Tsk, tsk. A martial artist of your skills." I turned to face
the Knight Sabers. "And _you_, Sylia... Planning was always one of your
hallmarks. You should be ashamed. And now it's going to cost you."
   Cologne looked at me closely. "You talk a good fight, young one. Can you
back it up?"
   "Oh.. easily, old ghoul. You either didn't read, or didn't pay enough
attention to the first part of 'Legion's Quest'." He nodded towards the
bookcase over his bed. "You and Sylia are the ones most familiar with the
pharmecological manipulation of the human body.. take a look at the bottles
on the shelf. They're the first clue."
   Sylia picked them up, reading the labeles aloud. "Demerol, Thorazine,
Naprosyn, Methatrexate..." Her eyes widened slightly, and I nodded.
Comprehension was dawning in Cologne's face as well.
   "That's right. Pain killers, tranquillizers, anti-inflamatories, and
immuno-supressives. Add it up for yourself."
   "You're a junkie?" Ranma hazared.
   Everyone else face-faulted, myself included. (Damn! SKJAM! was right.
Face-faulting hurts.)
   "No, ignorant son-in-law." Ranma bristled at that. "This one, we can do
little to punish. Nature has beaten us to it."
   Akane stepped forward with her hammer. "What do you mean?"
   "What the old Chinese hag is politely trying _not_ to mention, is that
I'm already being killed slowly." There were shocked looks all around the
room. I picked up a Cuban cigar that a Canadian author from the list had
smuggled over the border to me. Lighting it up, I rudely blew smoke in their
faces and continued. "Sylia could no doubt give you all the fancy latin
words describing my condition, but to make a long story short.."
   "TOO LATE!" they chorused.
   "Cute," I muttered. "Anyway, my immune system is in overdrive. Unlike
AIDS, where it _stops_ working, _my_ immune system is working so hard, it's
even attacking _me_! I'm being torn apart from the inside out, by my own
treasonous immune system. There isn't anything that you can do to me that
can torture me more painfully than what my own body is already doing. So,
for what it's worth, you have my sympathy. You've all gone to a lot of
wasted effort."
   Nene piped up, "We could always take you with us to Mega-Tokyo and have
you cured! Then you'd make a fair target."
   I coughed again, and spat some bloody phlem at her feet. She ughed, and
mooved back. "No way, little girl. I'm looking forward to my time. There are
friends and lovers waiting for me on the other side. The _only_ reason I
haven't left already is that I made someone a promise." I glared at them. "A
promise made is a debt unpaid. Fortunately, your attack, should you go ahead
with it, would release me from that promise. And I could be on my way."
   Ukyou waved her Big-Ass(tm) spatula around in frustration, accidently
whopping Kuno upside the head. He collapsed, groaning " ..that didn't
hurt... ". "How the hell can you punish someone who doesn't want to
live?!" she gritted between clenched teeth.
   I nodded at her. "Exactly." Then I waved at the broken door behind them.
"Besides.. I made a few preparations in case you felt like going through
with this." A younger, healthier version of myself walked in. Sylvie was the
first to realize who it was.
   "Legion?!"
   We _both_ nodded. "You all forgot.. Unlike Twister, or any of the _other_
Avatars created by the self-insertion 'fics on the list, ALL of our
alternate selves are part of one single mass mind. Not unlike the Borg. We
are one single person, stretching across ALL the alternate realities, not
just the fictional ones." We grinned. Together. "And once we understood our
power, thanks to the help Twister gave to us in 'Tangled Skein', we
decided to do something
with it."
   More people began to enter the yard around our house. A short
anthropomorphic cartoon coyote. A tall elegant woman with green hair,
dressed in battle armor. A cyborg. A huge Battlemech from the BattleTech
reality strode up the street and stopped next to them. A Basque terrorist. A
GI. A man in Star Fleet uniform. And a great many others. We were all
glaring at the anime attack force.
   "We don't particularly like you threatening part of us.. even in this
reality." We told them. "Especially in this reality, come to think of it.
You are not welcome here any longer. Go. Now."
   Sylia nodded, and the animates turned to leave. But Sylia took a moment
to look back at us.
   "This isn't over."
   We smiled at her coldly from our hundreds of faces. "Anytime, anyplace,
Sylia. We'll be waiting. We have all eternity."
   To Be Continued...
