style.  I only wish the authors could have included more retellings of the
manga events in which Ukyou was a major player, such as the secret sauce and

It would have made the whole thing too long.  And Ukyou had no reason to 
relate everything she's ever done that we've seen to Makiko.  Takahashi 
already told THOSE stories....I only repeated Manga elements because 
Ukyou needed to relate them to Makiko for the more original parts of her 
story to make sense...and to connect my take of them to what comes after.

I also lack my own copy of the manga, so I stuck to what I knew WELL :)

"lost years" between the Ranma 1/2 manga conclusion and DnR's beginning with
interesting stories.  The flashback to Ryouga's rampage was riveting, with
well-choreographed combat scenes.

Well, somebody liked that, then :)
 

Nabiki's argument with Kasumi is intriguingly novel, and the authors knew
exactly when to cut the scene.  A shorter exchange would have been
unsatisfying or unmemorable; a longer one would have stretched credibility as
Kasumi has not yet been given a "dark side" in DnR.
