Hello All!

I need some help on a couple of my fanfics.

The first is "The Witness." Ranma is on the witness stand.
1. What are the court proceedings for a trial?
2. Is there a Prosecuter and a Defender?
3. Is there a jury and how is a verdict reached?
4. How is a sentence determined and announced?

The second is "The Visit", same questions as above along with:
1. How are Japanese jails designed/setup?
2. Can a person actually visit a prisoner?
