What? You are the second person to imply that they *never* would
wake up, still caught up in the vivid dream they just had.
Come *on*! Do you seriously want to tell me that you *never* woke
up in the morning and spent the first minutes in a sort of
half-state, where the dream still makes sense and almost seems
real? I know I had it happen to me some times, and if Ranma
thought that it really happened, and ran away immediately, He
wouldn't notice that it was just a dream, until it was spelled out
to him by an impartial observer.
I once solved a computer problem in a dream and when I woke up, I
*really* thought that it would work and continued to believe it,
until I actually sat down to write the program and found that my
"solution" was completely unimplementable nonsense.

Hmmm. I thought it was pretty well-prepared from the beginning,
but that might be just my perception because I *knew* that he was
going to get together with Ukyou from the earlier drafts. Read
the story again, and see if you don't notice the places where his
adoration for Ukyou shows.
As for Kasumi playing love-goddess and matching them up - it's
*funny*. Explain it rationally, and half the humour is gone.
