At 10:57 PM 9/22/96 +0000, you wrote:

Anyone who would raise the flag of battle in order to defend their *right*

1) tell'em to can it, 2) warn'em that they're about to go to "never, never"
land, and 3) send'em.
well I just read this and though that it was just what I was
currently disapointed with. most of my fealings are sumed up nicely
in a post I just sent to the list. do you think you could read it
for me?

thank you very much

 Skywise,

I did read your other post, saved it, and agree with most of your viewpoints.
However, <great word, usually leads to total contradiction> you and I are
both saying the same thing although in different form. You snipped my post
down to the above quote, which totally changes the meaning of my message.

The ONLY spam that fits the above statement is:

a) Me too... - posts which just waste bandwidth and time.
b) I think that people who write about ___ are idiots - flame bait, and
hurtful...
c) I hate you, your country, your family, etc, etc - just not needed!!!
d) You can't write worth crap! (with no evidence to back up the statement!)
e) ...

In other words, posts that no one needs to really see. Comments back and forth
about various subjects, fine. Observations concerning possible fanfics, fine.
Discussion of ideas, concepts, interesting places, all of these, fine!!!
Those really
aren't SPAM, only the useless posts fall under my definition of "crap".

Of course, all of the above falls under: IMHO

ps Of course, since HE pays the bills, only WW (TY) is in a position to
judge what
he feels is SPAM, and a waste of time. Everyone keeps forgetting these simple
facts: WW pays all the bills, maintains the remailer, handles all the Admin
details,
and does not charge the membership a single cent! A certain amount of
respect is
due him, and his views on how the ML should run.
