If you're going for surprise, I'd make him something other than first,
to throw us all off. :)
Anyway, I like the core idea, even if it seems out of character.
I'd like it to be longer, with a more intricate mystery element,
though. I guess I'd like to see some low-stakes mystery going on,
with red herrings, false starts, suspicion, betrayal, murder (just
kidding) and the like. So... keep writing! :)
